So, I could be wrong here, but awarding a single hextech box per SEASON per champion seems a bit unfun.
The boxes are already relatively weak and not that exciting, and what's the average player's champion pool, perhaps 20? So 20 boxes per season? Seems pretty dang underwhelming.

No because many people cant play rank and chest are [zombie-nunu-bummed] and people goes [zombie-nunu-tears] when they get the chests

what you deserve1 votesThe whole point is to expand the pool of champions that you actually play. I've gotten all of my chests so far this year no problem.
Mysticman892 votesI think the idea is to push people outside of their usual champ pool though, not to mention since you can get them if someone in your premade gets an S, people don't actually need to perform well on unfamiliar champs if they have a talented friend.
I think most people are held back by keys than having boxes to open anyway.
