So, I just played a ranked game as Garen top, that went over an hour long, and...
We finally won. It was a great game. It was really close, the other team also made it to our nexus, both teams were fighting for Baron several times, and the teamfights were intense and stressful, but also genuinely a lot of fun. The attitude on my team was also great. Some mistakes were pointed out, but not in annoying ways. Everyone communicated well and was friendly. We got our LP for the victory, and the time felt well-spent. I gave everybody honor, even though some people on the other team were salty in post-game.
The next game, (new team), I went top again. Our Leona died roughly 5 minutes in, and said, "we lost this" and then "I think I might intentionally feed now, still deciding". Our adc says "wtf??". These were the first three things said all game. She came back and died once more (now 0-2), then disconnected without another word, and we of course lost. The HOUR worth of LP / positive experience from the previous game was now literally lost, as if that game had never happened, because I'm at the same exact amount of LP that I was at before the Garen game started, only now, it's two hours later in the day, so I literally could have, and should have, spent my time doing something else.
Can we please get some kind of compensation or adjustment for 4v5s in ranked games. Why not give zero penalty (+0) to the players who stayed in the game. Give the full sum of LP deduction to the player(s) who left. If your duo queue partner is the leaver, you also are included in the LP deduction (treats you as if you left as well) to avoid exploitation. I don't know. Maybe that's not the proper solution, but I know there should be SOMETHING. Reporting and moving on is not enough, because I'll never know that they got punished, so why should I feel better for reporting? And "the enemy team gets AFKs too" yeah, and those games AREN'T FUN. There needs to be some kind of compensation for it. Riot's got so much money and tons of employees. Figure something out. Please.
