went 6 of 10 against high golds and got placed in s1.

hell my last provisional had 2 plat 5s and i won that and still didnt even place gold.

life is depressing

I went 9-1 on promos and silver 3, the placements have been fucked since the start of the season.

Hang in there brother/sister. Most people I know got placed about a Tier lower than where they finished last season, regardless of their games.

ive never ranked before.

but i figure since i pull nothing but high gold to diamonds in normals, and high gold-low plat in my provisionals id at least place gold with a 60% winrate

i went from the 10 point grade scale to 7 point. suddenly i went from an A- student to B average.

still feels shitty to be a consistent 90-93, and have that go from A- to b/b+

shitty way to make it harder to get college scholarships to force you to play 10 grand a semester.

You should know the placement system is garbage.

The provisionals literally mean nothing unless it's your first time playing Ranked, EVER, AT ALL. On that account.
When I was new to Ranked I played a few games, didn't do so hot, got Bronze II Season 4
Season 5 came around I got placed in Bronze IV even though I did fairly well, winning around 6/10 games with turret kills and assists being my main objective and I "usually" got them
Season 6 I learned how bad the placement system really is, I won an exceptional 9/10 games. I never went negative on any of the provisionals, not even the one I lost, I had at minimum 3-4 turret kills/assists a game, I warded as support all the time and got my team mates fed. Guess what? Bronze V.

That's when I realized and looked back, it doesn't matter how well you do in them at all. Because all they do is take your previous season rank, and deny you the rank you probably deserve and force you to climb in areas you shouldn't have to. Meanwhile people who "first time champ in Ranked" or "Whats an Aatrox?" were getting immediately put into Bronze II+.. no no, I didn't have a hard time climbing out Bronze V-III but as soon as I hit Bronze II, h*ll broke loose, trolls/afks/feeders/disconnectors/enemies who'd give away our positions. It's not impossible to climb up because of ur rank, its impossible to climb up because of Riots matchmaking failures and ranked system.
