Best champion for learning fundamentals of Top lane.

You might want to specify that Garen is an AD champion. OP went Garen full AP an hour after this post :D

Answering on your question. No, Nasus is not good for learning fundamentals. He requires a bit more advanced knowledge like wave management, lane adoption build, map control, knowledge of powerspike, knowledge of snowballing the game.

Garen is better as a top because his kit is so simple you really have to get good with the fundamentals to win consistently. He also has a split push build if your team if feeding.

Nasus' big problem in low elo (well split pushers in general) is your teammates are going to 4v5 a lot. You have to be able to hard carry because they don't know stuff like clear the waves but stay out of fights. Because Nasus' split push is dependent on farming and he can be shut down, there's always that risk. On the other hand, the other team won't know how to deal with a split pusher either.

To get out of Bronze you gotta play Snowball champions Kled Irelia Renekton

Garen is pretty fine , Nasus really takes time to scale

Well if you want to master the fundametals, i suggest try learn teemo, garen, quin, soraka. Why these champions. Their kit is very simplistic, as a result you dont need high skill to land combo . In trade off you get time to learn to last hit, when to push, when to freeze, when to trade or not, when to chase kill or not, and learn positioning in lane and in teamfights. But most importantly is you learn how to PUT WARDS ALL THE TIME, HAVE MAP AWARENESS, HAVE READY TP TO GANK BOT OR HELP DRAGON instead of tp to lane. Now Nasus is a weird pick cause 1) he gets poke easily and you cant answer back cause you have small mana pool and you need it to stack Q 2) if you go for stacks then you will tend to ignore the rest of the team and farm top 3) can get easily kited 4) you can farm really good under tower, 5) have great sustain in lane cause passive lifesteal 6) he lacks escape tools ( dash, jump, mobility). In conclusion if garen, teemo, quin, soraka are the lv1 -easy champion to hepl learn the basics then nasus is lv2 at least, for reference azir and lee sin belongs to lv5 where you need to know the basics in order to focus to get better at combos and mechanics. Thats my opinion, of cource you may find easier to learn with other champions but my tip is find something that you like and have fun with.

Garen is your best bet...for the love of god build trinity force and then full tank not AP.

item 3078 item 3053 item 3742 item 3065 item 3111item 3800

build MR if enemy is AP and armor if AD. But generally you want one of each at least

I would suggest playing Sion, that champion is braindead as it gets, followed by Nasus, but Sion will always get tanky no matter what and be useful

Also there is a idiot-proof strategy called inting Sion you should look it up if you're interested

Edit : it's a well known fact that Nasus/ Singed/ Sion players deserve to be couple divisions lower than they are and if they are on any other champion they'll feed relentlessly

Buddy I am a nasus player, I main many things and perform very well. I would argue that because you are a nasus player you should be pretty high up in the rank. You need to know lots of wave management and lots of other macro in order to be good with nasus. He is kinda shit in diamond and above because people easily know how to counter him and they will very much exploit his weaknesses.

This does not mean play Renekton - Nasus is great with these concepts, too, and he typically benefits more from farming well.

Garen item 3146 item 3285 item 3100 item 3157 item 3116 item 3020

40% CD-R, slow, on hit effects. Could work in bronze.

@thread Generally speaking, you want to win your lane in low ELOs, potentially dominate it.

Heres a surefire training regimen to that effect;

  1. Make an ARAM custom.
  2. Get perfect CS reliably on your (chosen) champion.
  3. Add a beginner bot.
  4. Repeat 2
  5. Repeat 2 and 3 until its 1v5
  6. Change one bot to intermediate.
  7. Repeat 2 and 6 until you can 1v5 with perfect CS

Once you can 1v5 with perfect CS on bots, youll have trained up your basics so much that it will be hard to for you to lose lane.
