Dynamic queue has failed. Sorry.

I'm not meaning this to be a rage post, if it sounds like it is, I'm sorry. But on to my point.

Having primary and secondary has to mean there is more emphasis on the primary. There has to be. But currently, there is no way there is, and here's why.

In a system of primary and secondary, your queue needs to go a little while to search for your primary. Only your primary. Then after it hits a certain amount of time(either set by Riot or manually set by each player, I'm in favor of each player) queue resets, expanding the parameters. Your new parameter would be Primary OR secondary, where as before it was just primary.

But currently, when multiple times in a row this happens, your queue can pop immediately. And it can just as easily be your secondary. Wrong. This is what shows the new champ select has failed. In primary/secondary, immediate queue pops can ONLY mean primary. Where as if you've had to wait a while, then it can be secondary or primary(and by while, I'm not meaning 10 minutes. This can just as easily be 10-30 seconds).

Put this into other terms. I'm sure you've all played CoD before. When you select your primary weapon and your secondary weapon, you're placing more emphasis on your primary. You spawn with your primary.

The current system of primary and secondary has failed. Sorry.

Edit:

Thought I'd add this in(this my be the ragey part, however). The way the system currently works, players are more likely to be trolly, I think. I can testify this from personal experience. I NEVER troll and I always try my best, but when I'm put into another role(my primary is jungle, always) I'm more likely to pick "op" picks regardless of me ever having played the champion before. (I've played them all before, but a lot of them only like once in aram or something). I'm also likely to pick "counters" rather than comfort picks, simply because I don't really have any comfort picks in lane. And those that I do just aren't as comfortable as they should be.

As a support main, i got my primary 9/10 times during placements :P

But I get what you're saying. Seems like it should try a little harder for those maining other roles to get their primary pick, before conceding to search primary or secondary.

You just have to fool the system. If you really want your primary and only your primary put mid as your secondary. If mid is your primary and you want mid - probably should put jungle or top as secondary. If you want instant pop - put support as your secondary - that is a fact. I think you are correct that it doesn't immediately search for your primary - I think it just tries to work with each double roll to make a team as quickly as possible.

They are trying to avoid the long queue times and you are wanting to expand them again since you only want to play one place. if you want mid, jung, or adc then you are going to have a long queue time no matter what. In higher elo this is a problem.

EX: In my trio we always secure bot and i was going jungle and top. So no matter what we would get support and adc but i could be two roles. The queue time was probably around 2 min with top, even as secondary, primarly picked since its the least picked role right now.

I changed to mid/jung and the queue jumps to 10 mins!!

Very good idea.

Small correction in that your complaints are about the new champ select. "New Champ Select" is the position-queuing system. "Dynamic Queue" is specifically the system letting people queue as a premade. It's probably more useful in terms of feedback to not lump the two systems together.

Sounds like you should learn to lane.

The thing is, it's cool in draft mode but it shouldn't be a replacement for Team Builder.

They accomplish 2 different things and concern different kind of player's attitude. During draft, you don't want to ban what your team mates are going to pick and ofc queueing in 2 out of 5 roles lets you have a decent delta of opportunities to not get a role you are uncomfortable with. But if you want to play X champion in Y lane for Z role you can't hope for the planets "survive the ban phase", "being first pick" and "no dodgers" to be aligned, Any1 who wants to play said champion and that only won't whine about long wait times because it's a downside of being such specific in his/her request.

So, we need both things.

I think it's a bug. I que for primary bot and secondary top, 70% of games i get bot. But! Whenever i get an immidiate popup that the game was found, it's always my secondary, which leads me to believe this might be a glitch.

It's something I've been saying for a while, but the new dynamic Q didn't fix any problems at all. The only thing it does is say your preferred role so you don't have to type it. There will still be assholes that still say,"Pick priority". Then there's the problem you mentioned where you get your secondary role most of the time rather than primary role.
