After 2000 games and MMR

so MMR goes by percentage of games played and from what I've read I guess it determines ELO reward and penalty and also placement for your team in ranked after the placement matches. Here's my problem. For two years in a row I tried to build a ranked team. After 5 straight wins in placement both times we got bronze for both placements and the team raged/disbanded. I think I would have to drastically raise my MMR before I could get this account to be able to place out of bronze in a team but already having 2000+ games would that even be feasible or worth the effort?

Also a note this account is like three or four years old and my only account. I used to buy a lot of skins and they are all on this account. Naturally if I would have to start again I won't re-purchase skins so there is the factor of not wanting to give up on this account straight away.

But if it has gotten to the point where I can never improve with it I might just have to go skinless though this isn't ideal.

Also I like the name a lot so can I delete the acount and make another one with the same name?

I think the absolute highest you can place in ranked teams is Silver 5, don't quote me on that though.

MMR is based off of your wins vs loses and the order in which they are achieved. The system will compare the average MMR's of both teams to determine LP gains and losses.

Making a new account doesn't solve the problem. It actually creates new ones as you have to get runes and champs all over again. It also doesn't change the biggest affect on Ranking, you. You may have a chance of placing higher, but if your skill level doesn't match then you will fall back down to it.

Don't place so much importance on initial placement matchs. The 30-40 after that are much more important.
