Yi is 3v3

Look I know the game doesn't balance around the 3v3 game but without things like warmongers armor thorn-mail and wards I've noticed there just isn't really countering yi. Even without him getting armor pen (they usually don't bother) most armor options fall off quickly and far too hard and his natural movement speed nixes any attempts at running too and this is without anything other then second level boots.

I've been playing this game for around three years now and find I just don't like the general crowd in five on five so I mostly only go 3v3 but yi has been a pain in the ass every weekend (Hello high-schoolers and college weekend players ;) )

Could some sort of item or items be added to help offset him maybe a little?

I play 3v3 a lot. I've played as Yi, and against Yi. He's pretty mediocre there. He's very weak in the early game, so you can easily pressure or bully him out of the farm he needs. If I'm a jungler or a support, I'll just get a lane pushed and then sit in his jungle stealing his stuff, and he can't do a thing to stop me. This gives me a huge window of time to get an advantage. Even once he starts getting items, he still has major weaknesses. He's very vulnerable to lockdown and burst, and the prevalence of bruiser-tanks, CC mages and long-ranged burst means that he has very few opportunities to take down opponents without exposing himself to huge retaliation. This is particularly true since Wooglet's gives mages easy and early access to a way to avoid and punish his assassination attempts.

I just don't see anything to suggest he's really a problem in 3v3s. You could maybe argue Yasuo or Trynd in the past, but even they haven't been power-picks there for a while, and they're both still much stronger than Yi in 3v3s.

I'm not saying you can't talk. I'm saying champions like Yi and Kat rek bronze elo because of bad mechanics and coordination. I'm plat in 3's and you never see people play yi here because he is bad.

I main Yi in SR and I imagine he'd be far worse in 3v3.

The jungle is smaller so there's nowhere for you to hide when counterjungled.
You can duel some junglers, but not others, and you can't 1v2.
The SR cheese strat with TP/smite Yi of early TP gank bot after first back with red buff and blue smite doesn't work since red buff doesn't exist and there's no duo lanes to kill.
Lane Yi is only good against specialized opponents.
Yi takes at least 5 minutes to farm his core item while AFK farming in rift, but 3v3 is a low gold environment and 5 min is already mid game.
