Lulu.

Did you guys and gals think her buff was needed? As in needed ? She was always very viable, and always in the meta. She's pretty good in Solo Q. Her kit is by far one of the most annoying ones in the game. She has poke, a good shield, a movement speed buff, a silence and a knock up + tank stat on her ult. And all of this, she can still go full ap and be useful. I don't understand why she's getting all of these buffs. Can someone explain to me?

I'm not being toxic, I am just wondering whether or not these buffs were deserved.

Are you really worried about a extra 6 points of damage and glitterlance costing 10 less mana? Not exactly world shattering changes.

Her winrate is 46.89% compared to Sona at 51.56% I'm sure if Riot gave her a little boost, it's because she needs it. They have many more tools than we do to see how certain champions are faring in games and queues, how healthy they are, etc.

Lulu’s prevalence as a solo laner was characterized by a combination of strengths she made little trade-offs for, making laning against her a particularly frustrating affair. We solved this by transferring some of her lane clearing power into team utility, hitting her ability to poke champions in the process. Now that the Fae Sorceress sports a healthier clearing pattern, we’re comfortable giving her some offensive power back in a way that augments both her support and solo playstyles.

//edit: whoops wrote Swain instead of Sona lol

Her winrate is at 49% on Lolking

But winrate and playrate doesn't mean much. Sona is at that winrate because she is an easier champion to play. But a kit can be overloaded but the champion may still have a low winrate. Lulu is also a harder champion to play. Look at riven. Always pointed out as a toxic champion, she has 48% winrate.

Truth, but still I'm sure there's a reason why she's receiving the buff she is and where it's being applied.

imo all supports should feel really scary not damage or tank wise but in terms of utility... Like when a bard ults you and you see him team with him or a thresh chasing and then winding that Q theres always that tense moment... SUpports should be like this and not a fly that you can swat away

i think the fact that her w was recently buffed should also be noted

Not to mention the multiple big item 3504 buffs. The item is already core on Lulu as is.

Low gold lulu support main here. I think she was in a good state before the buffs. That said, I'm pretty bad and don't have a lot of experience. I normally max e first and then w and tried messing around by throwing a few more ranks into q, but quickly decided that she's still best as an early dmg dealer (level 1-5) and her dmg is lackluster after that with the amount of gold a support manages to get and went back to maxing e and w first.

She's not seeing massive play rate in accordance to other supports, could use the love I guess.

For me, what they did was rather cute considering they made it their goal 8 months ago to basically "murder" solo lane lulu as a whole. For the majority of season 5 she was played as a mid/"rare" toplaner (allowing for the whole carry top meta to form), then rito decided that she should randomly be a support and nerfed her damages, but now that she's seeing some use as a counter to the likes of support malz she's randomly being given back some of her damage again. Watching them tinker with her kit reminds me a lot of the story of Pinnochio, in that rito can't make up their bloody minds on whether she's a puppet or a real boy, not realizing that in both scenarios she's hardly a "Broken threat" compared to the likes of camille/those damned assassins they just had to release.
