Zhonya's Hourglass for ADCs?

So AP champions have the option to build a Zhonyas which we all know how it works, but why does it only have to be for mages? Why not make one for marksmen aswell? I mean a lot of marksmen are just as squishy and if there is a Zed or a talon on the other team. who do they go for? the ADC because most likely the AP mid has a Zhonyas and they know it would be a waste to ult on them. Everything would be the same except instead of building AP it would give AD. simple as that. Some people say build a guardians angel, but so can Mages and they could have both GA and ZH! Others say that ADCs have more mobility then alot of mages. Which is true in some cases, but most of the meta APs have high mobility and sometimes higher then ADCS (talking to you Ahri). On another note this would not be for ANY AD champ. just marksmen. Kinda like Runaan's Hurriane. Anyone have any reasons why this is a bad idea?

If you have a red, green, blue, yellow, and pink champion - you've got an interesting aesthetic where everyone can bring something different. If you mix all the colors togehter? Everyone is brown.

Separating certain mechanics and play-style boons to certain classes makes different classes different classes.

There are a wide range of stat patterns that are only available to a specific archetype. Want %AS slows? I hope you like building tons of armor. Want solid HP/5? Paired with tons of MR. Want %armor pen? Only found with big AD. Want some solid %magic pen? Only found with big AP. And again - I'd argue this makes the game stronger, because it gives each build path a distinct feel, and actually makes them distinct build paths.

Also - marksman have life steal. Generally speaking, Zhonya's allows mages a burst of defense between their bursts, where life steal allows some solid sustain on sustained damage-dealers.

You can still buy Zhonya vs or on diving assasins - I've seen Rengars and Yi with Zhonya, also AD carries with zhonya vs teams with Zed/ Rengar.

That's probably how it'd end up. It would be just as much a buff for assassins as it would be ADCs.

QSS works against Zed (he has other issues though...)

When an AP uses their cooldowns then Zhonyas it's not really a dps loss. When an ADC stops autoing it is a dps loss. While their cooldowns also aren't as relevant for damage. This would just end up being a huge buff for ad casters.

Because mages don't have the rapid-DPS sustain like ADC does.

Mage champs have Zhonyas to protect themselves. ADCs have lifesteal to protect themselves.

you can always just....build it. I do on every adc vs a hard dive comp with unstoppable bullshit like vi nautilus yasuo or something REALLY dumb like that.

I bought zhonya's on vayne once.

They had a Vi and I just didn't want her ulting me anymore.

It worked.

I feel like a Zhonya's and a Guardian Angel, a frequent item on many AD carries, would be too much for the assassins to deal with. I'd prefer making this a defensive item. Maybe 400 HP, 25 MR, 25 Armor. That's pretty weak for a tank to buy, and some brusiers would probably buy it too.

zhonya's is NOT a terrible defensive item for ADC's, most adc's have "some" AP scaling anyway. And on some ADC's it's actually not that bad, I.E. Miss Fortune, and Corki, both have strong AP Scalings,

MF has AP scaling directly tied to her Q, E, and Ult, so, your still increasing damage, but not AA's, while providing Armor + the Zhonya's effect.
