First off.....I tried so hard to put "System Of A Down" in the title, but after 20 minutes it still looked like Chop-Suey.

So everyone says you're Toxic. Maybe you know it or maybe you don't, but there is good news! It can be fixed.

So Everyone who plays league and even people who don't know one thing about it. People are usually more toxic then most other games. This may be true, but what people don't know. Is that there are some super fantastic people who don't rage and are a blast to chat and play with!

There are some simple and effective ways to stop being toxic. Its fairly easy for most. Ill give some tips and steps i took from being toxic to becoming someone who people enjoy playing with.

The first step to stop being toxic is to find what causes it and nip it at the bud. Some people rage for different reasons. Like me I used to rage at myself when I would make a mistake or at others when they make such a bad play you swear that they are really a monkey playing. Sit back and think to yourself "Why Do I Rage?". Once you have figured that out continue.

Here are some solutions to most problems. Yes i understand some people really can not help it because of medical issues and what have you. This article is not for those people. To those people. I wish you the best of luck :)

  1. Surround yourself with people who Do not rage or are toxic in chat. Mute/remove people who are. I myself have some great friends who I love to talk to. Yet I can't in game because of how toxic they get when they start losing. This doesn't mean unfriending people because they are toxic. Just ignoring them for a bit while they are being toxic.

  2. Find a stress outlet. For alot of people league can be a major stress influence. Find something that relieves stress. Me I play guitar or play some xbox till my stress subsides.

  3. Laugh at your mistakes and others. This is a great substitute for raging. When something happens that is in favor of the enemy team or someone was just being dumb. Laugh it off. It might be hard to do at first because you feel that dark anger rising up inside you and trying to take hold, but ignore that and don't go to the dark side young one. Just Force a laugh out.

  4. Take breaks. if you find yourself raging because something super bad happened and there is nothing to contain that rage. Just finish that game ASAP. Then take a much needed break till you feel better. Don't think about league just chill.

  5. Set up a possible rewards system. If you find yourself failing at fixing this toxic problem. Make a reward/punishment system. Set a goal "I will not rage for one month" If you were successful in that timeframe of anti-rage. Reward yourself. Go to a fancy restaurant/movie/anything fun. As punishment for breaking this goal. If you live with someone have them smack you with a pillow once you start raging or withhold a meal. Get creative.

  6. Play in a stress free environment. If you're playing while someone is shouting in your ear. odds are you'll start being toxic in game. Find someplace nice and warm. With no stress. This ties into Step 1, but is still a different step.

If practiced correctly and applied to your league life. This will help. If it does not i recommend to stop playing league. :( Also on another note. This will not just help your league life, but your personal as well. I myself have found that I have become a better person from taking these things from league and applying them to IRL situations. I wish you all the best of luck on the fields of justice :)

If all else fails go into your League of Legends "Config" file and open the file called "Persistedsetting.son" with Notepad++ and then press Ctrl+f and enter "ChatScale" change the value below it to -100. This will remove your chat so you don't see what other people say to you and so you don't rage in chat and get banned. Do this if you feel like you might be toxic the next game but still want to play. Typing /mute all is another solution but if you rage you can easily just enter that exact same command and then continue to rage to your 0/7 illaoi.

Great post. I find if I have any anger it's from my teammates but generally I'll just vocally complain instead of typing. I know raging won't help a player get better or stop them from trolling.

If it's just an inexperienced player, raging and being toxic will make them tilt more and won't help them get better.

If they are trolling, then you are doing exactly what they want you to do. So you're feeding the troll.

GOD DAMNIT GROMP YOU STUPID TOAD! Sorry I'll report myself now ;D.... Anyway if your rage becomes bad enough you can do what Uberdanger did. To fix his toxicity he asked riot for like a 500 game chat ban or something like that.

Lag is the only thing that'll make me shit fury, but I won't do it at my teammates. I keep that shit in my Skype call to annoy my friends or to myself because nobody on my team wants to hear me going "FUCKING LAG ASSS DICCKKKKKS SHOOT MY KNEE CAPS FUCKKKK" lol

I know it won't work for everyone, but sometimes listening to calm music while playing helps me calm down when I'm having a been game and everyone is flaming.
