I have noticed when using Ivern that it feels a little awkward trying to shield yourself while in an engagement. Would it be possible to make a slight change so that when casting E it will automatically apply to Ivern unless he is targeting an ally. It just kinda feels clunky and awkward casting E but having it do nothing because your cursor wasn't directly on Ivern.
There is a self cast hotkey actually.
Alt + [whatever ability you're using] by default. You can change the hotkey to something else as well in-game using the setting menu. (I personally have my self cast key be on shift since it's easier to press.)

I actually go into settings and change my quick + self cast alternate keys over to Q W and E. They still work if you click on someone else but if you don't click on someone the abilities will self cast (if applicable) The only issue is trying to cast an ability on an ally right as they juke because then you self cast. You can always click on portraits though.
