Yorick rework discussion

As some may know, Riot is doing a much needed full rework on Yorick, and i wanted to create a place for everyone who would like to discuss the direction they think is right for him.

My take on Yorick is that he should be League's Grave Digger, but currently he is an amalgamation of a lot of things, and as a result he lacks depth in everything.

First, his skills are references to the 4 horseman, but I think he is only 1: Pestilence. You could even make a Shadow Isles event where u release Yorick rework along with 4 skins who reference the 4 horseman (Hecarim = War...). But that's just me dreaming, back to the rework.

In order to make Yorick a true Grave Digger we need to make him work with champion's dead bodies, that is a space that's not explored by any other champion, and there's no one better than Yorick to do that. I don't know how long a body lasts after someone dies, but if this is the path chosen it probably needs to be tweaked.

Now we ask, what is a Grave Digger supposed to be doing in a game? My idea is that he is a behemoth, who's nearly impossible to kill and after a fight he looks for dead bodies, grabs them, and buries them in graves, and that's exactly what I wanna do when i play yorick. He needs to have a true incentive to do this, because usually when a team fight ends, the team needs to take objectives, and having your top lane digging graves while the adc tries desperately to get a turret is not fun to anyone. But I have an idea to solve that, enter: A Grave Digger's job

Passive: When Yorick's bag is empty he passes through a champion's dead body he grabs it and puts it in his bag (it would be weird to have sion's body be of the same size as teemo's in his bag, but there's nothing we can do about that). The grab is instant, in a teamfight you will probably grab someone without noticing, but that's alright, and he can only carry 1 body, it would be silly for him to spend 5 minutes after all fights burrying bodies.

Active: Yorick digs a hole in front of him (x cast time). If he has a dead body he can channel for x secs to burry the champion (like destroying a tunnel from rek sai). It's important that the holes last only a few seconds and that this ability has at least an average cooldown, so its clear that he's not supposed to bury more than 1 champ per fight.

Finally the place where the champion is burried could become some sort of permanent desecrated ground or a graveyard, and in the area nearby it (like skarner's passive) enemy champions could have some debuff, like removing their BASE hp regen. It is quite powerful to create permanent zones of control, but I think that's the idea, if a game with Yorick manages to last for an hour, you know that there will be graveyards everywhere.

Another problem that i found is that this can get really snowbally in lane, so we can make this Yorick's ult, and giving it a new active when Yorick and the enemy champion are on the desecrated ground. Just like Gnar, Yorick would only have access to his ult if he was fighting in his zone, this means that we can give it a lot of power, like an aoe root with hands coming from the ground and grabbing everyone. With a skill like this Yorick needs to pay a lot of attention to any fight, anywhere on the map, in fact my idea is that yorick should be a juggernaut from mid lane, and this skill compliments that very well, since he would have to play very agressively, helping his jungler to gank and counter jungle so he can get bodies and prepare zones for the teamfights.

This skill also has a lot of levers, for instance the size of the zones (they could also grow as the game progresses, like corruption expanding), the bonuses Yorick gains, as well as the debuffs for the enemy team, its cooldown, specially as an ulti, which means that before 6 he won't be able to create any zone, hell it doesnt even need to be 6, if 6 is too soon make it 8 or if it's too late make it 4

Last but not least, I think his w should work just like anivia's q, that would give him increased poke (which is the only thing he does in lane) and would increase his identity as a poke fighter. And it would be really fun to see a juggernaut on mid lane, specially since some ap carries (cassio) have invaded top lane, its just fitting that we pay those mages back with one of our own
