Auto attack speeds

Is there any real reason to make auto attacks such a pain in the ass to deal with on some champions? Vlad, Fiddle, and Swain have notoriously bad auto attacks. I play Talon quite a bit, and his auto attack is slower than a golf cart on the interstate. Meanwhile we have champions like Azir, who has the best auto attack in the game, who doesn't even fucking USE his auto attack. Even Katarina got an improvement on her auto speed a while back.

Basically my question is this: is there any downside to normalizing auto attack speeds, or at least making the worst offenders easier to deal with?

The only problem I can think of is not super large, but as an ADC main, different ADCs feel different depending on the auto attack animation. For example, I hate Twitch's and Quinn's auto attacks with a passion because they're slow and therefore waste a lot of time during the animation. Contrasted to old Graves (AKA back when he was my favorite champion in the game. RIP old Graves) who had a godlike auto attack animation that was short and snappy. If all auto attacks were normalized, then there would be a significant lack of, for lack of a better word, unique feeling across ADCs.

Sorry if this was a little rambly, but I hope you understand what I'm getting at. Thank you for your time, The Grand Design

Alright first off, Katarina got a buff to her attack speed so she could more easily get her Q's second proc off, especially in regard to csing. Azir has a snappy auto animation because he relies on his soldiers entirely to do dmg, so he would lose all lane pressure (which he has little in all honesty right now) to try and auto attack.

Different champions have different auto attack animations, but it all has a reason according to their kit. Vladimir and Swain have horrible auto attack animations (and low ranges) because both can be very oppressive in lane with the combination of their healing + targeted dmg. It would be very hard to win lane against either if they had standard auto attack animation. Because of their natural advantage in lane, it's harder to cs with them, and thus harder to get items and scale.

Talon has a poor auto animation mainly because his Q is an auto reset. He also has W + Tiamat/Hydra to insta-clear waves. A weaker laning phase is a necessary weakness for him overall because he naturally counters so many mid laners.

I'd recommend going into a custom game by yourself and practice csing on any champ using no abilities or runes/masteries. Do this for 20 minutes at the time and aim for 200 cs (difficult to get, but once you get you can cs with that champ well!). This helped me a lot learn to cs with Karma Lux auto attacks, who, while not as bad as the ones you listed, still have crappy auto animations.
