PSA: If you instalock and steal other player's lane
Then at least don't go 0/3 in the first 10 mins
Then at least don't go 0/3 in the first 10 mins
I've instalocked plenty of times. Mostly because I have something in my head I want to play. I pick, and lock. Nothing seriously bad about it. However then I get the person 10 seconds later calling lets say ADC. Why would they fucking do that? Then they pick what they want and lock it in spite of me. Then I sit there with my wide eyes open talking to myself. "Why the fuck does this guy not have eyes?"
I dont think instalocking is that bad, UNLESS you take anothers lane. If I pick before your call, I will say it.
Of course they will say and lock if you don't say anything at all. How are they supposed to know where do you go?
By looking at my champion and summoner spells.
A Yasuo with ignite/exhaust and flash can go to either mid or top. So does a Gangplank
Yasuo and gankplank usually like to go mid, just better match ups. No matter where they go yes they go either top or mid. However generally they will go mid.
You have fingers, and a brain, ask where they want to go. Besides no reason to get annoyed over someone in champion lobby in blind pick of all places.
play sion exclusively mid, and occasionally top because i am forced too
just because i lock in sion doesn't mean im top or jungle or support
but i play draft anyway so none of this is an issue for me
You play him in a different lane so what?
Sion mid just sounds fucking horrible to me as well in my opinion.
Luckily you are in draft mode.
The only thing that sounds horrible is you
Acting all entitled thinking everyone else has to play just like you and acting like a douche bag when it appears they aren't
And here is where the problem lies. Some are very competitive, others for fun.
If I saw you trying to play sion mid in competitive, I would say something. If it's normal I could give a shit less. Fuck it let them play what they want.
Ranked I would immediately question you.
Why would they ask? They type the role they want as fast as possible so someone else doesn't get it. If you're instalocked they don't know what role your playing since any champ can be played any role (with varying success) so if you instalock without calling then you're basically getting autofilled.
How do you not know where a person wants to go? Shit that guy instalocked ahri. Hes going support. No hes going mid. Why would you put yourself into the support role and hurt yourself. Sure she can be played support but it would be bad.
How? If someone instalocks adc and you called top how are you getting autofilled? You are not getting auto filled? Lets say no called ADC in general for this lobby. No one got auto filled.
Lets say someone instalock lulu. where is he going with that exhaust... Support. 9/10 times they will go support with exhaust. Sure they say ignite. Maybe mid, but most likely going support once again. They will not go top lane, because that would be torture.
Jungle? No she has no smite and they would be horrible as well.
Everyone is free to play what they want in blind pick. Just because one goes Ahri does not mean they go mid. A large portion of the league play base doesn't follow the meta.
How can one instalock adc? No champion is inherantly an adc vayne top is played quite often and any Marksmen can go any role in blind pick.
How would it be torture? Lulu can be played any role same as all the other champions. Riot has specifically stated that no champion is stuck in 1 role. Every champion can be played every role.
Instalocking something doesn't say if they're going jgl or not. Smite can be changed at any point in the champ select. If you autolock without calling anything and jgl is open then you're expected to take smite unless you're going off meta jgling without smite.
TL'DR: No champ is destined for 1 role especially not in blind pick. A large amount of the player base plays off meta so if you don't call anything you're getting autofilled into whatever is free whether you instalocked or not.
Sure, anyone is free to pick whatever they want and go where ever they want.
How can one not instalock an ADC? You pick vayne because sometimes she went top lane. Oh man popularity pick 18.5% ADC 92.1% 6.1% Top lane.
Oh man that 6.1% that is 1/16 (6.25) of a chance they will top lane. Those are fucking horrible odds.
Okay if I pick vayne from that 1/16 chance I may go top lane. Whos auto filling me? Top lane? I would assume she is going bot lane if she is bring heal no matter what.
What do percentage have to do with this? A lot of people like to go off meta. That vayne could be going mid with heal. Even if its play rate is 0.01. They are always allowed to play it.
You dont understand it seems.
Percentages have a lot to do with it. That means majority of people will not go mid with vayne.
Yes they are allowed to play whatever they like in blind.
However that 1% that you say are off meta picks. Is simply stupid.
Majority of people will not go mid with vayne. we will say 10% of vayne players go top lane. Sure its off meta, but that doesn't mean a lot of people are picking off meta picks.
we will say 85% of the players go ADC. That is majority, and that 10% that go top. That is not a lot that is a small number.
we will keep numbers simple and this is theory stuff.
1000 people that vayne. 850 people go bot.
100 people go top.
50 other people go mid jungle or support.
100 is not a lot of people compared to the 850.
You still haven't explained why percentages have a lot to do with it. "That means majority of people will not go mid with vayne." That holds no meaning in this argument. Even if 1 person goes mid lane vayne a year my argument still holds. You're missing the point. Its not how many people go into a lane but if at least 1 person has the chance of wanting that role, we can never be sure.
Statically yes, you can be very sure that you wont see a vayne mid. Its like saying we are killing 99.99% of germs.
Sure that .01% is still alive. However it's such an insignificant number that it truly doesn't matter.
The reason I am sure is because. 99.99% wont do it. Sure it's 100% however it's such an overwhelming number that seeing 1 go mid wont bother me.
Reasons i no longer play blinds. Lol. Though in draft you have to deal w/ a lot of dodges from ppl who got support which is lame but at least its not the clusterf*&# of blinds.
Yea, exactly
you pretty much trade in queue/lobby time for getting 7 yasuo bans and not having to deal with call/pickorder clusterfuck
Better still, don't do it.
But yeah, if you have to do it, at least be reliable in your role...
I assume you mean in blind. Well do i have a deal for you! There's Draft pick A holy land where you dont have to call for roles.
And a holy land where fortunately for me nobody can play Yasuo, but unfortunately for my friend that wants to play Yasuo.
