How can Warwick be reworked to make him viable in pro-play but not lose his identity?

I love my Warwick, I want to see him in pro-play. But he doesn't seem to mesh well with the current pro-meta. How can he be fixed without changing who he is?

He is gonna get reworked. BTW WW is a port or inspired by the old Bloodseeker from DOTA - he was reworked there too.

I know he will be reworked, I am wondering how he could be reworked but still be Warwick. It would be pointless to rework something and completely change the champion.

well hes so old his ''identity'' isnt really unique, he AA things and sustains alot XinZhao Aatrox so yeah, even his lore should be changed to make him more savage than an awkward wolf man thing slapping people XD

Sion - from tanky DPS/mage - into full tank also look the Fiora and Poppy reworks - they are new champions.
