Here we go again. If I can find the post it will be more in-depth ,but as riot said, it's much easier to host in Korea because it would be like covering one state in U.S(this is the simple summary.)

It's simple geography. Plus, South Korea has a vastly superior internet infrastructure compared to ours. That helps, too.

Yeah, it kind of helps that South Korea has the highest density of high profile/professional video gamers in the world, in a super small area. I am East coast too, and while I feel what you are saying about high ping, it almost never makes the game unplayable.

I find it hard to believe that Rito can give them 8 ping in Korea but the East Coast is stuck with 160+ and there's NOTHING THEY CAN DO.

You've got that in the wrong order. The geography is is the biggest factor in it. South Korea is smaller than the state of Ohio. If Riot were to put servers in central Ohio, everybody in Ohio could expect to have extremely low ping. Just like how anybody withing 150-200 square miles of the actual NA servers can expect to have super low ping.The superior infrastructure in South Korea definitely helps, but it's only a minor factor in all of this.
