Meddler Can I Discuss With You About Nocturne For A Moment?

People might consider Nocturne at the moment " balanced " which trust me guys I AGREE he is balanced but I feel like he's lacking on something.

Recently Nocturne's E has gotten a buff where any enemy champion who is feared grants Nocturne extra movement speed but here's the problem I have with that. There's only a few champions who's capable to use fear so it really isn't benefiting much for nocturne. The main problem I have with his E is that the enemy has to be within 465 Range or they will not be feared, too many champions are capable to escape nocturne's E and not only that the duration of Nocturne's Fear is extremely short for a skill that takes about 2 seconds within 465 range to take effect, it would be better if his range can increase during the duration so that it's more beneficial for Nocturne to catch the enemy when ganking.

Moving along with Nocturne's R, compared to Sion and Pantheon their global ult has a HUGE amount of range that gives so much ganking potential that is mostly successful but with Nocturne's R, his cool down is ridiculous. His cool down at level 6 is 180 then 140 and then 100 for an ult that just darkens the game for 4 seconds (which really doesn't do anything but partcially freak people out to be aware) and has the potential to just dash to an enemy in a smallish range at level 6. Why doesn't he have a lower cool down for an Ult that just dims the game and makes him dash to an enemy? To be honest, If Nocturne's ult had a Stun or some kind of Root or Fear then it will make sense for him to have that amount of range and cool down but besides that it's absurd.

In the end, Why can't Nocturne have an actual GOOD buff? He's a VERY squishy champion who most relies on auto attacking to get the kill but if his E or R was more useful then his ganking potential would REALLY be awesome for a champion who's VERY squishy early/mid game with a high cool down ult and a short ranged E that has a VERY short fear effect.

These are poor comparisons. Sion and Pantheon's ults are both incredibly easy to avoid. Pantheon's has a very long delay, and clearly broadcasts where he is about to land, giving players plenty of time to get out of the way unless they are CC'd, or funneled into the ult by Pantheon's teammates.

Sion's ult is incredibly easy to dodge, not only with dashes/flash, but even just by moving slightly to the side. It is also incredibly easy to body block--it's almost impossible to land this skill on a squishy backline champion in a late game teamfight, because any bruiser or tank on the enemy team is going to make a bee line for you. Speaking as someone who plays a lot of Sion: I usually don't even attempt to land a long range ult. More often than not, it's a better idea to use it at point blank range, or follow up with it after landing an E.

Nocturne's ult has comparatively low counterplay--it's a point and click dash. It also has the added utility of negating team vision, which is, itself, an incredibly strong effect that can win late game team fights.

I don't really have strong opinions on whether or not Nocturne needs a buff. If he does, I don't think it should be a buff to his ult. His ultimate is incredibly strong and reliable as is, with relatively low counterplay compared to the other semi-global dashes/teleports. If he needs a buff, add some power to some other part of his kit. His ult is already eating up a huge portion of his power budget.
