Am I the only person who's having fun this preseason?
I was hyped when they started revealing things coming up in preseason. I was super excited to be able to try out all this new stuff. Tons of reworks, new items, new changes, it all looked so cool. I watched tons of youtube videos of the PBE, checked pbe patch notes constantly for updates, studied all the new changes and tried to absorb as much info as possible.
When the patch hit, I hopped on and immediately fell in love with it.
Sure, things aren't balanced, we all knew that would happen. But the chaos adds so much fun to each game. I'm seeing people play champions I haven't seen in months. I'm seeing people try already popular champions with the new items and masteries. I'm seeing a breath of fresh air into this game.
I'm not having any issues myself with the new jungle. It hasn't seemed hard to clear or anything like I've heard people say. I love the new jungle items and the rift herald will be fun to play around.
I love the new masteries as it makes it so easy to set up a page in select and fixes what I hated about it before where it was just a bunch of mostly minor buffs stacked on top of eachother to feel useful and now gives us less options that are more focused toward having larger individual impact rather than collective. I love the new keystones, they are so much better than the old final points.
The new ADC items have been very fun to use too and I love how there's more diversity than one set path with maybe one or two conditional items.
The reworks have been so fun to play.
The ward changes have been amazing to me. It's much more fun to play support now that I'm able to ward the bush that the enemy
keeps sitting in while still having a ward to ward the river in case their jungler ganks. Even in the other lanes I'm so happy that now I can ward both sides of mid or feel safer pushing past the river in top now that I'm able to ward it more often. And the fact that upgrades are free now help so much when behind in lane. I was even able to get a penta on
last night thanks to that extra ward charge allowing me to clean up crew after a bad fight that got everyone on the enemy team low. (also they helped a lot for ward hop escapes in laning phase.)
I'm not really bothered by the fast games, it's how preseason works. It'll slow down a bit as changes happen.
I'm having lots of fun playing with my friends and even solo. There's so many things to try and this is the time where I get to do off meta things like
adc/top/mid. (most of my bard points come from not playing him support now.) I've been playing kog'maw jungle and that's pretty fun. I'm trying stuff I've never done before and having a ton of fun with it. It makes me a little sad that so many people seem to hate this when this level of chaos is a wonderland to me. So it makes me wonder, am I THE ONLY person who's having fun lately?
Riot, I love the changes. Some balance is needed but that's obvious, but I think things are headed in a nice direction and can't wait for what else comes this season!
(Whose damage will be nerfed but otherwise I'm not bothered) and with support
(Because I find it fun). I LOVE the resolve masteries, makes me look forward to playing a tank playstyle. Sadly I'm doing horribly with my main
and I'm just not sure where to go. I couldn't jungle with him due to the lack of experience and gold, top lane I felt much weaker. I should probably try deathfire, but the ferocity tree feels like a chore compared to the other trees. Cunning has some cool stuff and Resolve makes me excited to try on certain champions, but Ferocity just feels like "the offense tree" and feels more needed than actually interesting.
