Trist in 5.2

Aside from just being powerful with the detonator and everything, her jump is on an insanely low cd. I've seen her hop in to engage and then hop away in the same trade to avoid dying, only to leave you with a bomb and get the kill while running and you can't catch her.

Last patch, the cooldown on the jump was higher. They nerfed it specifically because her jumping all over the place was op. How is anyone supposed to trade against this in-lane? I even rooted her with Zyra and the rocket jump STILL took precedence, she hopped out of my CC and over the wall. No champion in the game can keep up with that.

Am I missing something? How have the rest of you fared against Trist (not people using Trist.)

Patch 5.2 is one big headache.

Actually, the CD on her jump is pretty high. It just resets on kills or assists. Meaning if she jumps in to get bonus damage from her E, but is denied the kill / assist, she is dead.

If you don't understand her basic mechanics, check out the champion spotlight.

Her Rocket Jump has a cooldown of 22/20/18/16/14.

If she engages on you with it, and lives long enough to use it again without a reset, you are doing something seriously wrong.

So looking at the patch notes, and the cooldown for rocket jump hasn't changed between the previous patch and her rework, from what I see. Still gets resets though, but the spotlight they released tells that they want her to be a daredevil and get those resets, which is why they added the damage amp if you Jump onto a target with the Explosive Charge, so you are encouraged to use it offensively to burst someone.

EDIT: If I recall, CC's and dash/jumps are kind of weird: I believe it's the norm for a dash/jump to go the full distance, THEN the CC affects you. Of course there are exceptions like Yasuo's dash, but they ARE exceptions to the rule.

Do you know what a reset is?

Making the most of her reset is key to ruling the game as Tristana, it's what makes her the most assassin-like of all the ADC's in the game.
