why does the chat function cover being able to start games and other aspects of the client, this is pretty anoying

The new client is extremely hideous and no clue why you'd ever use it over the current.

cant do many things because of the chat being so massive, on top of that there are so many other annoying things like unable to scroll through he online people on your club. and a couple others i cant seem to remember at this moment
Agreed. Also unless it's been changed, I recall it's impossible to lauch a new chat conversation with someone you don't have a current conversation with, when you're in champion select. Can be annoying at times.
What I don't understand is why those chat windows don't open on the right side, they've already placed the friends window outside the client, why not place the chat windows there as well? That way they can't cover up anything.
Or at least have the option for it.

why would i want to minimize the entire chat, just to click the start button, then again to open it back up . the old chat system was EONS better and easier to use than this new chat that doesnt even work correctly, dont even get me Started on all the bugs when getting into a ranked game champion select. so many games were fucked over by the numerous bugs
You can detach the chat window and place it anywhere you want. Click on the button on the far right to do so.
wow, how have i never noticed this b4, i always just assumed it was like old chat where it minimized just that window ( even tho i know this one doesnt do that) , like just my mindset made me not even look at it
or when clicking the club you have new messages in it doesnt open it up you have to click the chat bubble icon first

I don't understand what exactly is the problem here? You can minimize the window, press the button and then open the chat again.
Why can you only message recently contact people while on champ select? Why do you have to click the person you wish to speak to and then click the chat to bar to talk. Why does it not automatically scroll down when people message you? Why does it not have recently played with listed? Why is the overall design clunky and annoyingly placed? Why have they placed it over features you want to be able to click, it made more sense to cover the lobby chat with chat (who reads two chats at once). While we're at it, the new masteries is ugly in chat lobby, you can't see what's going on.
