Trouble picking champs.

I've decided to try ranked again and main top/support. I'm doing a small champ pool of tanks that can play either roll. I'm have troubles decide when I should one over the other though. My champs are Leona, sion, maokai, malphite and shen. Any advice on when I should pick who? Also should I build any of them not full tank?

A lot of those champions can top and support. Have you ever tried Volibear ?

You can build them all full tank even in support role.

Tank support items. item 3401 item 3069 Depends on what your adc/ team could use. could they use soemone to help CS provide a shield.. or could provide your team a way to position or engage quickly.. Will be slightly less tanky going coin.

I have seen tank support take item 3069 and it work out well for them.

item 3009 item 3800 item 3190 Two situational items depending on the match, infact the whole thing is situational. Just build what you need and not what you think you want.. Why swiftys? Nothing will slow you down... x3 .

#Depending what you're against pick up either item 3075 A marksman went mid and got decently fed? No problem... item 3110Oh a Xin Zhao with full attack speed? item 3742 You think you're fast? item 3065 item 3102 What's magic damage? item 3143 Pair this with frozen heart and Attack speed champions will fear you.

I would suggest expanding your champion pool and not using the same champions for both top and support. Almost all traditional supports are very weak in any other lane and most of the top lane champions you put do not perform well as support, they CAN but you're really just hurting your chances of winning by not picking a champion that is designed to perform the support role. Sion, Malphite, and Shen can be used as support but you need to know how to play them very well to consistently perform well in that role. Leona does not perform well top due to her severe lack of damage without another person present. I've been there, I would love nothing more than Braum or Thresh to be viable top lane, but if you're doing ranked you have to try to maximize your chances of winning, it's only fair to the rest of the people you're grouped up with. If you're dead set on using a champion that can top and support try Trundle, he's been seeing a lot of support play in higher ranks. Or alternatively change your roles to Mid and support since a lot of those champions can overlap like Annie, Morgana, Lux, Vel'Koz, Brand, Zyra, etc. Those aren't tanky champions like you wanted but it's something to think about.

Who would you suggest I get. I really want to top and support.
