What champions have the most build diversity?

Cowseed··1 votes·1,300 views

I mean like not just switching out 1 item. I mean like completely different builds that work/are not too crappy. Like tank/ap teemo. AD/AP/Crit(yes) Evelyn or the recent AD/Crit Kennen. And how many champs can actually do this? Just pull one of these builds out the @$$ and still have a chance of winning games or just completely screw over people who were trying counter building the meta build.

Kinda curious because when it works it's kinda fun to do.

Kayle, Jax, akali basically all the hybrids.

Veigar and nasus can get away with semi trolly builds do to stacking damage.

A few supports like thresh.

Kayle is hybrid O_O?!

As for akali I feel like she can build anything that does damage tbh.

I seldom see that dude in my games so could you enlighten me a bit as to what kinds of diversity he has with his builds?

I would say Corki is the single most diverse, but he can be a little lacking in damage with any build unless he gets ahead, but just about any item or build can be made to work on him if the playstyle changes with the build. [personal opinion]

This kinda makes sense because most of what he builds just gets converted into magic. So I actually can see him just building anything and still doing damage.

I use a debuff build when ever i get him on ARAM, works crazy well if your team focus who ever you clip with your E you get to just watch your team melt them all thanks to you. item 3158 item 3071 item 3022 item 3091 item 3110 [item 3001oritem 3075]

Last time I played him, Triforce + IE + ER basically oneshot people with lucky crits.

Then again, I did play a super fucking aggressive Corki and would often be 6/4 at the 15 minute mark. Or 4/6.

That was also about a year ago...

Jax can go from full damage to 1-2 damage items into tank. He also can choose between AP and on-hit/AD when going damage, though AP is more of a cheese thing.

Tried AP on him once.

Failed miserable >>___>>

For my money, Kled's one of the more interesting cases in build diversity. Does he want certain stats for maximum effectiveness? Sure. But hey, as long as you're building a mix of damage, health, and or resistances, it doesn't matter how you get there.

Full tank? You're a Q/Ult bot, but yeah, that works.

Full AD? Build crit on that you will know what damage really looks like.

Mix of both? Literally his standard build, add anything you want.

Teemo, Amumu, Nasus, Xin Zhao, Kennen, Yasuo, Morgana, Annie, Ziggs, Fizz. These are all the people I can think of that have at least 2 viable build paths and 1 semi-viable build path.

Most champions have, at most, two completely different build paths. Even champions who have been traditionally seen as "flexible" are mostly flexible because their primary build works in multiple roles. Take for example Kayle. Kayle has really only one build - on-hit carry. Building more AD or more AP is really just gimping yourself. The only truly different build option that really works is the Top-Support thing for the Kayle-Yi boosting strat where she builds Ardent and CDR. So that's two viable build options.

Something I think that's more impressive than completely alternate build paths is builds that accomplish something completely different with just a few small changes. A great example of this is Taliyah. Most people build something like this:

summoner 4 summoner 6 item 3165 item 3116 item 3151 item 3020 item 3135 item 3102 oritem 3157

This is a build that emphasizes the power of Taliyah's Q and allows her to be a brutal kiting DPS machine. However, it is possible to build like this instead:

summoner 4 summoner 14 item 3030 item 3151 item 3020 item 3135 item 3089 item 3102 or item 3157

with a different summoner spell and a difference in two items, the focus of the character completely shifts from DPS to Burst. The abilities that you previously would have used for self peel are now used for pick and as your primary source of damage.

Here is every viable item on Taric . Any combo of any of these items will work on him come late game.

item 3001 item 3194 item 3003 item 3504 item 3174 item 3060 item 3102 item 3742 item 1416 item 1401 item 1402 item 1400 item 2303 item 2302 item 3401 item 3110 item 3022 item 3193 item 3025 item 3109 item 3100 item 3190 item 3004 item 3222 item 3115 item 3056 item 3143 item 3074 item 3107 item 3800 item 3027 item 2045 item 3065 item 3053 item 3068item 3069 item 3075 item 3748 item 3078 item 3083 item 3091 item 3050 item 3512

You can also potentially use 6 of the keystones effectively. Furvor of battle, Thunderlord's decree, Windspeaker's blessing, Grasp of the undying, Courage of the colossus, and Stoneborn pact are all useful on him.
