This is actually good.

Everyone here will likely shoot me for saying that, but this is the best thing that could happen to Zed balance-wise right now. Why?

Because now this argument no longer exists to justify his laning phase: "Buy Mercurial and Zed's useless."

In other words, this is one less anchor for the balance team to have to deal with when trying to figure out how to fix Zed, so his normal ability numbers can be hit without having to worry about him being utterly worthless come mid- to late-game.

I talked about this a bit in at least one other thread, but yes, this is basically the idea here. What is difficult about this is that there is the question of just how much effect this has on the overall balance state of the champion (or others in a similar situation, really), and at what levels of play.

This is a massive late game buff to him in competitive play. Previously everyone would just buy a QSS and zed would be worthless.

while we're at it can we also mention how hourglass' CD now is longer than Zed's ult timer so it doesn't matter half the time?

seriously, what's the counter to this now, besides be a tank? exhaust? tried that, didn't really work, especially when he decided to get Qss after some damage items.
