Shen, The Forgotten Top Laner

I just finished one of thousands of games I've played as Shen and I realized something. This champ is clunky, outdated, and pretty much obsolete. I just finished laning against the abomination of a champ that is Sett and realized some things. If I played passive vs him he would try to bully me but my general tankiness, runes, dorans shield, and w gave me enough sustain I could go about my business like an overly fed Nasus being mildly annoyed by a MonkeyKing . However, if I tried to fight him there were only 2 outcomes. When it came down to his haymaker I would either get devastated by it's true damage or I would dash through him at the perfect time, missing all the damage, taunting him, recalling my sword and counter pad only to do 0 damage with my 3 empowered aa's to his actual health since he gets a massive shield for obliterating everything in front of him like Goku unleashing a kamehameha wave. So for the whole match I was incentivized to pretty much just pve for all laning phase. Sett's kit is a different issue but here's what I noticed about Shen.

He needs a change. So here's what I recommend

Make his Q an instant recall with an aa reset. Not only will it make Shen so much more fun to play, feel more responsive, and make the attack speed buff feel way less clunky when applying between autos because it won't be between an auto anymore, but it will also get him on par with all the other champs that have aa resets in their kits.

Make the damage Shen does with his Q be true damage and tweak it down in damage output a bit or maybe make it true damage while he's on his counter pad. It only lasts 1.75 seconds so it's not making a huge amount of damage difference but it can be crucial in certain moments and will also help with tank shredding which is what he is kinda designed to be.

Give Shen some kind of heal in his kit. Most of the top laners now have them including big names like Darius, Garen, Sett, Mordekaiser, and Aatrox. Most of them have major executioner finishes too so if you're low as Shen you just have to go back to base. Your kit is already designed to be somewhat of a global support with your ult and ever since the extra minute got tacked onto teleport you're punished even harder for being a Shen in today's meta.

I'm not saying do all of these things, maybe just one or two because right now Shen feels so stuck because he doesn't have game carrying damage like the other big name top laners and he's absolutely zero fun to endure constant lane bullying to make a fight-changing play with an ult every now and then.

Remember when Riot said they missed the mark thematically speaking with Shen? Still waiting for Riot to do something about it.

Seems like Shen is doing fine. https://lolalytics.com/lol/shen/?lane=top

Good winrate and a moderate 5% pickrate.

Shen like most tanks struggle a lot vs juggernauts like Darius, Garen, Mordekaiser all of which are popular champs.

The issue with his q is it HAS to go through the enemy champ
