I think his passive actually separates people who are "trying out" Xerath and people who know what they're doing. I was part of the former camp for a while, but once I realized I should just AA anything and everything whenever I get the chance, I stopped having mana issues. I won't go as far as saying that's the mark of a good Xerath player, and consequently that I am a good Xerath player, but it does stop you from being mediocre.

Yeah... no. His full rotation costs 410 mana. He pays for that passive and if he didn't have it he'd be unusable.

Well yeah but the basic point is that his passive doesn't make it so that he has no resource. You're right that if he didn't have the passive his mana costs would be reduced to compensate but this person is suggesting that he stay exactly as he is but have his passive gutted/deleted, which would make him probably the single most mana-hungry champion in the game.

And I doubt anyone would want that passive gone anyway. If he doesn't need to auto on occasion to manage his mana then he's less interactive than he is now, and I don't think anyone wants Xerath to have even less reason to put himself in danger.

you dont wave clear with spells you pke with them you cs with basic attacks taric has to poke and heal 24/7 with worse mana regen and mana pool and only slightly less mana cost and thats not even counting the xerath's passive

I got excited when the poke meta came back. But they were apparently talking about Varus and Jayce, not Ziggs and Xerath.

their passives arnt op cho you just have to bully away from minions before he reaches 6 best to do by makeing him waste his mana at lvl 1-2. trundle you cant scare one who isnt bad out of lane so bad that he cant heal but you can keep him away from farm

If neither of their passives aren't OP, then Xer's passive is definitely not OP.

you can bash them away from farm early before their skills do much damage while they wont have to recall completely loseing farm can cause a them to fall behind alot
