Support Dedicated Mastery Tree Idea & Draft.
I just posed this on the Pbe so I thought i'd post it here too since more players are on here. Hey guys since Riot has been looking at supports I thought it would be cool to start brainstorming mastery trees for support only that can't be abused well by solo lanes.
Here's my first draft of masteries I thought would be impactful enough to feel good on support that wouldn't be easily used by any other roles.
If you like this idea, even if you don't like MY mastery tree please upvote this so Riot can see that people that play support would like their own mastery tree.
If we can get our own mastery tree then it can be balanced entirely around supporting and the masteries could end up being really strong making supports feel really good about them.
Tier 1. Vision tier to keep other roles from investing.
Increases ward duration by x % or Increases ward vision radius by x%
Tier 2. Even more vision to keep other roles out.
This one gives more wards at a price ---- Increases green and pink ward limit by 1 each or More vision but for free --- Sightstone and it's upgrades will regenerate an additional ward every x seconds.
Tier 3. Very powerful but only works on allies. So no solo laning.
Ally closest to you gains an additional 1-12 dmg on their auto attack based off of your level. This is for nice dmg. or Your shields/heals/buffs are x% stronger and grant the target 10 movement speed. This stacks with other buff increases and gives more defense.
Tier 4. Choosing a gold income play style. Aggressive versus defensive.
Auto attacks on enemies grant ten gold for meele champions and four for ranged. Or Buffing an ally grants 2 gold. Supporting passive playstyles for supports that don't even want to get in auto range.
Tier 5. This tier has the xp mastery so you have to dedicate hard into the tree to access it. It also competes with a CDR mastery.
This is because utility supports don't value levels as much as other supports and can function better from behind. This was a comment made by a few people playing things like soraka that didn't feel supports needed more xp. Gain an additional x% xp when near an ally. Increases assist gold by x% or Increase your CDR cap to 45% and decreases active item cooldown by x%
Keystones. One for Tanks, one for dmg supports, and one for utility supports.
Tank- Shares x% of your resistances with closest ally. Take 2% less dmg. This rewards you for building tanky and staying near your adc.
Dmg Supports. Hitting an enemy with X spells marks them, Allies can detonate this mark for x dmg.
Similiar to leona passive this is meant to replace Thunderlords by rewarding combos hit, however it can only be procced by allies meaning it can't be picked up by a solo lane. It could be balanced on it's own because very few people will try to take it in a solo lane.
Utility Support- Windspeakers Blessing.
This is just a draft with rough numbers and ideas. Things like increased assist gold could be too much but they're just ideas trying to get people brainstorming. I tried my best to keep this from being abuse- able by other lanes but some people will try to do it and probably succeed.
