3v3 Ranked Flex questions

I have a few questions that I cannot figure out after climbing from Bronze 3 to Silver 1 so far in Ranked 3v3 Flex.

#1- How does the matchmaking determine the players? Ex. My Bronze 2 friend and myself (S1) Queue up for flex 3's. We get a 3rd member, also in Silver 1. Our opponents are NOTHING SHORT of Gold 1. One is Diamond 1, the Other is in Platinum 4. I am confused how this makes any sense. __ #2- Why can't we queue up for roles in it? Ex. Top, Bot, Jungle..etc. I know the EU meta contains a Support as well, so add that as an option.

I would rather wait 5 minutes for a queue, then be placed with teammates who only lock in to one champion, regardless of comp. As well as have my queue pop in 1-2 minutes but place me with Diamonds/Platinums when Im Silver, queuing with a Bronze. It wont let us Queue together if we're gold & bronze.. but it'll let us fight against people who are Diamond/Plat in 3v3 this current season already.

I know Riot doesn't care about 3v3.. but the queue system is hardly different.

TL;DR - Fix Matchmaking so Bronze doesn't play vs Diamonds

There's something about your grievance that I'm not entirely buying but I'll answer what I can.

Firstly, how does matchmaking determine the players? Probably by a balance of ranks for that particular queue (Not by Solo/Duo). The opponents you're listing out I find a hard time believing that it was that lopsided under 3v3 Flex ranking.

Secondly, why can't you queue up for roles? The answer is kind of obvious. You have 2 nearly identical lanes and a jungle. Is it really that difficult to sort out what you want to do, what you want to play, etc? There are multiple meta options when playing in 3v3. The EU Support one you mentioned is pretty much one of those options.

Something tells me though that you played one game with that kind of mismatch. But if you were to play against others at your level, you'd probably have a longer time waiting. It's a lesser interested queue so sometimes you just have to settle. I personally don't acknowledge my opponent's rank whatsoever so I just don't complain about a Silver vs Platinum/Diamond mismatch. I just play it out and whether or not I do well or not just comes up to how the game rolls out.
