Altars mysteriously changing control mid game

Just played a game of Normal 3v3 where our altar would mysteriously be capped, without showing in chat log. All 3 enemies would be dead, our altar would be fully controlled by us.. then POOF it would change to their altar control. Either there were some serious glitches in this one specific game.. or more likely.. someone could hack that.

I had no idea this was possible, but it's frustrating as all hell. I prefer 3v3 over 5v5 just due to the way the map works and the skirmish factor.
