PBE Shaco Changes
The PBE Shaco changes are definitely interesting (Q damage removed and AP ratio shifted to backstab passive), but I think Riot is really missing the point with the changes to his Q. I'm a Shaco main (1 trick) and only play this game because Shaco is in it. I agree Shaco's Q was overloaded with so much power stacked into one ability (invisible, blink, and can proc sheen, with a potential crit if hit from the back) however by removing all of the damage and making the passive scale with AP it's going to enforce the ever increasing popularity of tank/bruiser Shaco, which is hilarious considering he's an assassin. Lethality builds are still going to be viable, but with constant reductions in ratios and decrease in the ability to assassinate his target he's going to be forced to be build tank items since they'll be significantly more cost effective and if you think squishy assassin Shaco was toxic, wait until you meet full tank Shaco that can't be killed. His ultimate will need to be nerfed since it's going to be possible to be facing TWO units in your back line with 3500hp and 150 armor/150 mr, still chunking for huge health. I've played quite a few tank Shaco games (not in a while) just to try the build and it feels even dirtier than the lethality builds, you hit for a little less damage, but being able to sit in a team fight chasing down their ADC as an assassin, just feels wrong.
Riots direction with this just shows their lack of understanding of their own game and depth of champions. Because of Shaco's kit, he has tons of viable build paths, and having an assassin that can build almost full tank and blink to the back line to initiate a fight is not going to be healthy. At least with lethality Shaco, if he messed up, he died, now it's going to be intended that he's a fight initiator, as an assassin. Good one Riot.
I'm not going to theory craft changes because it's a waste of time and Riot will do what they want, but ultimately, Shaco needs a full rework to 1: make his kit more interactive (E is a stupid ability too, and just feels uninspiring) 2: Provide more Counterplay/clarity to what he is doing.
