Take assassins out of lane and put them in the jungle

I don't even really know why primary laning assassins are even a thing. Aren't they supposed to farm champions, not CS? Much of what makes them unpleasant right now is that they have been tuned to be able to survive in lane and make it decently through to mid game where they still get to keep that laning power AND get to zero people out.

Right now they have the best of all worlds. They get the wave clear, poke, harass of a laner, the mobility to avoid ganks from their kits and hyper-carry style ability to pop off after getting an item or two. All other solo laners have to trade off at least one of these two for the other.

If they were moved to the jungle then their kits would make sense as well as forcing them to choose to farm or hunt. When you get right down to it, right now assassins are just ADCs that don't need a support.
