Now that all mid laners build this new banshees veil 1st item vs fizz on top of his weak laning phase, making it impossible for him to win lane, u should somehow help out this fish. after the assassins update and the changes to fizz's kit focusing all his power around his ultymate, now he fucking sucks. actually history is repeating itself here. once again, ap fizz is so fucking weak, that he is played more ad tank top than ap assassin mid. it rings any bells from 1 year ago ? Riot please fix this god damn fizz already. he finally had become viable in these last 1-2 months but now again u delete him.

Fizz's W hits like a truck, what are you talking about?

Also, he can simply pop the shield and back off, then use his ult in the shield's downtime.

? mages can do that, fizz cant bcs he is melee. and he cant small trade at lvl 6+ without using his ultymate. his opponent will just all in him bcs as i just said he is melee.

His E is a fantastic tool for negating a counter-attack. Banshee's Veil has a 40 second cooldown on the spell-shield, and if Fizz simply pops it with his Q or W then backs off with E, he can just wait out his CDs then use his ult to engage while the shield is down or, even better, get to zone his opponent away from farm.

Fizz may be melee, but he is mobile enough to skirt around fights and choose his battles.

When his ult gets blocked how is he supposed to even get in range to proc his W tho? No slow and no knockup so he has to burn E to get in range for Q, but then there is no mark on the enemy so he has to wait 2 seconds without E up. And he can hardly engage with Q on mages that spam the wave to death at level 7-8+.

Believe it or not, you can simply walk up to a mage a lot of times. You'll be surprised how far side-stepping can go. Being somebody who plays Kassadin and Talon quite a bit, I know the value of saving your tools and just using your movement speed to pop a shield or burn a cooldown.

It sound very counter-intuitive, but as a former Fizz player you can do a lot even without your tools, especially since creeps do not block him.

Fizz Q range is barely standard auto attack range for mages. I doubt a Xerath or Ziggs or Lux or Ahri or whatever is 1) going to let an assassin just walk up to get in range for it or 2) not going to catch him with their cc in the dash animation.

Then you can use E to dodge the CC when they throw it. Assassins in lane are all about poking down an enemy until they are low enough to kill in a combo.

A spell shield should only block one more spell tha necessary.

Yes the ones that have ranged abilities, Fizz has none besides r. And he has no spamable abilities either, they are all high cd.

Ok, then let's bring up an example even more melee than Fizz: Shen.

For a while I played Shen mid. It's hard as hell to outperform a ranged mage, but simply walking up to them from an angle makes them back away or throw a skillshot, which you can dodge. A spellshield would be more of a problem for Shen mid, and he can overcome it, so why would it be impossible for Fizz, who has far more mobility and tools?

You're exaggerating the existence of a spellshield's effect on lane for Fizz. It's more effective against him, yes, but it does not make the game unplayable like most of you are implying.

veigar and lux have 3 ranged spells to burn down the banshees shield. fizz doesnt. morgana diana lissandra are not even played.

Or maybe revert the item changes. Because it's not only Fizz that is suffering to this stupid shit design ideas, the banshee change in particular was the worst of them all.
