Pantheon: Honest Questions by an angery canadain
Im trying to avoid use of the boards(some of you reading this will know why) but i think someone needs to bring up pantheon.
at what point is this hunk of code going to get a total rework, or even slight gameplay changes like ezreal?
Pantheon in his current state is too low risk and too high a reward for a "lane bully" having a passive that blocks autos after slapping the same 2 minions twice,being able to poke you down with a point and click Q doing 75-235 damage on top of 140% ad scaling, a w that gives a last hit passive so strong to miss minions you'd have to be afk, an E that lets panth pile drive your skull into the dirt and stun you for 1 second on top of letting his passive to proc for free so he can just walk away with taking minimal damage.
Pantheon Top is sitting at a 3.33% pick rate with a 52.67% winrate, pantheon jungle is sitting at a 6.63% pick rate and a 51% winrate. why does this matter you might be asking yourself. Well let me tell you everyone's favorite "op" top laner irealia, who has a extremely similar kit except with a q rest instead of shields. Irelia is sitting at a 11.79% pick rate with an abysmal 47% winrate. everyone is screaming about how op irelia is but nonone talks about pantheon.
Pantheon feels in his current state is a great beginner champ as it teaches players how to last hit as well has how to trade without taking too much damage. but at his core is just an assassin with shields.
im not suggesting a full rework at all, just a visual update and some tweaks to his kit, like making the q spear a skillshot, or at least giving the spear collision so it can be blocked by minions, and changing the w from a full rest to setting it or adding 2 to the passive counter giving a bit more balanced trading
