But the LC$ isn't on the East Coast.

^ exactly. also it means they have spend money on their customers.. thats something they try to avoid. u see companies like riot are full of greedy lying scum who only care about profits rather than the people actually giving them their profits.

you must be new here, they don't give a shit. They know they have us addicted, so they are passing on investing in a needed server on the east coast.

If the west Coast and the LCS houses experience any ping though, rest assured they will jump right on it.

Rito's Priority List:

  1. LCS
  2. Skinz
  3. New Champs
  4. Reworks
  5. Skinz
  6. PBE balance + updates
  7. Skinz
  8. Pacify crowd that wants fair ping with eloquent lies

Watching streams of less than 70 ping plays makes me feel like my game is completely different. i watch pro adcs last hit every minion when im in game with my 110-140 ping i rarely get a last hit even though on my screen i fucking killed that minion riot give me gold. or i dodged that fucking skillshot there is no way in hell that hit me, or my favorite my fucking enchanted arrow hit that guy there is no way he dodged as i watched it pass right though him.

You guys understand that you can't just "add an east coast server", right? When you play a game, you connect to one of the servers with 9 other players. individual ping is pretty much proportional to distance to the server.

If connection to the server is relatively random, you'll get wildly varying ping numbers. West coast players could play with 30 ping in one game, and in the next game they might get 150 because they happened to connect to the east coast server. Obviously, such an inconsistency can be very frustrating for everybody involved.

And if you say "but only let east coast players connect to that server", then that's splitting regions. You'll have an NA-West and an NA-East, and Riot has explicitly stated that they don't want to put a schism on their North American community like that.

Lastly, while moving the servers more towards the middle of the country would make for a better "average" experience for users, for Riot I would imagine this is not financially sound, and would also severely impact the e-sports scene that has always been so focused around the west coast.

156 ping. Life is interesting.

Gigglebytes11/13/2014, 12:00:46 AM3 votes

Guys, guys. I live in Oregon and half the time I play I get around 150 ping that has spiked to 5,000. I'm not exactly sure what you guys are complaining about.

I used to be a paying customer; however, I have not purchased RP in months because am unhappy with the lack of action on this issue. Why should I support a company which places low value on my playing experience?

buneter11/12/2014, 7:35:50 PM2 votes

my ping was 80 then when they rebuilt there servers i've been getting a constant 100 I thought the new servers would help not hinder

Riot is already working on moving the servers towards the middle of the US.

Playing with 120 ping MS convinces me that I'm only in low Silver because of my 120 ping. The east coast server won't happen, I swear. Meanwhile in Korea, people play with 8 ping ms. What the?

Anyone else getting fps lagg

Hojo Lodis11/13/2014, 1:08:22 AM1 votes

Play on LAN ( Latin America North) if you want better ping. You won't understand anything if you know nothing of spanish, but as a east coast player you'll get half the amount of ping there..

100-120 ping NA, 40-55 ping LAN -> my location: East Canada.

Yep...

ChaoticPinecone11/13/2014, 4:10:11 AM1 votes

i dont get the big deal. my ping is similar on both coasts. in San Francisco, i get like 80. in Boston, i get 100. i get lag spikes either way

Craig11/12/2014, 2:42:05 AM1 votes

I feel like it's unfair and weird that, as a player living in the continental US, I ping 105 to the NA server and 40 to the LAN server. Why isn't the server located in the middle of the US?
