I've lost all passion for League. Am I alone? I feel so cold. I have to let go.

Strategy feels to be a an all time low. It used to be that the game was stable enough that BIG plays were really BIG. I'd put DEEP thought into my rune setup ( old runes ) Then i'd push as hard as i could to get perfect cs for that 1 roam / objective that would turn the tides of the game. I'd study all champs and build diverse builds for the champions that I liked to play depending on my enemies.

I had ideal runes (Old Runes) depending on the enemy team. I had many different build paths that i'd be partial to depending on what enemies i faced. Masteries would change with the enemy team makeup to match the item build that I planned to do with the rune setup i chose to counter the enemy team.

The runes I once loved are gone. Games are too short to build any meaningfully strategic item builds. & Masteries ( runes reforged ) are completely broken and bias synergy to certain champions over others.

On top of all this damage is all hybridized with keystone / true damage which reduced the effectiveness of counter building.

I'm a player that only likes to play a small champion pool. I've always been this way. In MMO's i'll never play more than 1 Class; I study all classes and i make choices and then I double down on them and master them vs all others.

League of Legends is the same. I don't like to play tons of champs; In fact i don't enjoy the mechanics of many champions. I find long cooldowns extremely boring.

Riot has reworked the champions that I enjoyed the most and I no longer have any urge to play this game.

I actually have a stronger drive to try a new Moba instead of continuing to play League.

This is the first time since season 3 that I have not been battling an overwhelming addiction to how great the game was.

Me too, this entire season i used to play like no life idiot i even got diamond 5 with diamond 3 MMR and tbh, none of those games i had played i felt like i had the control of any of those games, now i demoted from d5 to p5 (still feeling like every game isn't my control, i guess its because i play adc) and im playing less and less. Also the game has so much champions rn (most of them boring and not rewarding to use them because they are trash) so theres not enough dodges and not enough bans for all of them. Actually trying to play another strategy game like starcraft since the SoloQ and normal games of it are now free lol

I play when my friends ask me to. Had two games by myself, ranked and a normal, by the end of the ranked one, my team was saying how they hate this game now. It was well over by the 20 minute mark. The normal game was well over by the 18 minute mark but the enemy dragged it out to a whopping 22 minutes.

I remember my days in season 6 when i first started playing league it was so fun being a top lane main. Could take pantheon top, or teemo top, garen and darius. Nowadays i dont play top or any of those champions. People like to say "DaRiUs Is StIlL StRoNg" but its not the same as in season 6. Say what you want about the tank meta but it was super fun. Top lane was more about outplay. Any hard counters you had was beatable. Lanes were won through strategy not strength. Thats when the game felt the most balanced imo. People argue the tank meta is cancer but this one shot meta is worse. Even tanks run in fear cuz true damage makes anything you build useless. At least in tank meta when a game lasted 50 minutes and either side lost you felt a sense of "wow we tried our best" rather than the 20 minutes of you yelling "fizz did 900 damage"

Hello

While most of us have the same feeling, we should not leave the game just because of the community itself. Indeed, if you want to bring a change you most likely have to come with a new generation, however we can always ignore the ones we can't work/play with.

Let's not forget that LoL is really nice as a game itself.

Try and do your best, climb and you will see that not all the players are the same, after all it is a game and games are for children and adults as well.

Keep up the good work and see you later!

Burnout happens. Seriously. If you feel empty, take a break from league, long or short, doesn't matter. Try a new MOBA, or other genre of games. If you will try something new, you'll find league refreshing after coming back.

I still love the game. Now i play a lot, but i took a long break in s6, and swapped to a TF2 for a half of a year. And you know what? After i came back i enjoyed league more than ever.

State of the game is good now. People are complaining on boards every time, and they do seriously believe that current meta is the worst. And in previous meta they believed this one is the worst. For boards, League is always bad. But actually, game is now much better than in late s7, or during patch 8.1. Also, hard complaining about "dying game" and crybabying happens in every other gaming community. Overwatch, Dota, TF2, you name it.

Leave dude.... you'll be happier. If the game feels like a chore, don't play it. The point is to have fun. I dropped this shit like a bad habit and it's honestly been for the best. There are plenty of other games out there more worth your time... Riot has just got you stuck on theirs out of habit, nostalgia and that age-old fallacy of feeling that your time investment in it so far was for nothing if you leave now. Don't get suckered in.

If you're not having fun. Leave. If you want to check back in after a bit and see if the old enjoyment is back, hey... why not? But don't keep sludging along like someone in a loveless marriage that refuses to end things even though all of the joy is gone.

What other games do you all play?

old runes were p2w, and they were as deep as the current system, because you would just have about 4 or 5 pages that were the best value for each role, or if you were one tricking you would have 4 or 5 pages that were the best value in different matchups

Take a week break from LoL, if you still want to play a video game, play some that are unlikely to lead you to a stressful situation or that is focused on PvP.

I dont mind the rune changes or game length but I understand your sadness a d your faithfulness to select options (champions in league, a class in an MMO).

I've always been that way. In fighters I just spam one or two characters, in MMO I'd pick one class, in league I picked one champ, in RPGs I'd focus leveling one or two characters.

Riot doesnt like that focus at all and doesnt care about alienating players. It's a profit driven corporation that only cares about players with huge following (YouTube, Twitch, Pros). They do not care about the average player at all as long as they can pull in new players. They are even pulling for those who were perma banned recently as well as many advertising campaigns.

Even tencent seems to not be focusing on league and instead Arena of Valor (league rip off even though its owned by the same company) that's being pushed on the switch now.

The game is bleeding fast but Riot is only bandaiding the people they see as an opportunity for more revenue.

I understand it's a company but they care ZERO about the community and their opinions.
