How will this slow nerf factor into his itemization and kiting with Frozen Mallet?

The effect of Frozen Mallet reads: Your basic attacks slow your target's Movement Speed by 40% for 1.5 seconds (30% slow for ranged attacks).

Gnar's Q slows for 15 / 20 / 25 / 30 / 35% based on rank.

I would guess if you were building Frozen Mallet before the change to slows should not really effect any reason why you would buy it. Frozen Mallet, in as far as I understand it, is mostly for augmenting Gnar's power to kite, and building the Mallet still adds a slow while the Q is on cool-down and as an added bonus the slow from the Mallet cannot miss.

So like I said, if you were building it before, there is no reason why you would not build it now.

But if you build attack speed you can stack that slow.

True that before the changes to slows you could do that, but on Gnar you need so many other stats before attack speed I would say that is more of an edge case rather that something you can count on every game. Still, all in all, I say not much is lost on Gnar with these changes.
