Is the fact that I can't bind two commands to one key a bug or on purpose?

I finally found out that if you hit C it shows you, among other things, your champion's precise auto attack radius. C is a very awkward key for me to hit during the game, so I immediately went hunting until I found the option to rebind and bound it to space. This was great. I could center the camera on my champion and see all the information I need at once. Except as of the patch yesterday, this doesn't work. I can ONLY see my champion stats with space. It doesn't center the camera anymore. If I set it to center the camera, it doesn't show my stats.

I feel like this was deliberate, because people were doing stuff like binding mastery emotes to D, F, and R to tilt people--but it's really problematic other things like what I was doing. I can't find a way to make hitting C not awkward, and I really want to see all that information and center the camera from a single key, it just makes everything so much easier. Is this deliberate or a bug? And if it's deliberate, what are the odds Riot changes it back?

I hate to say this but this is almost certainly deliberate - imagine if you will being oh say ryze with w & e on the same binding (btw there is a glitch where if you press them quickly enough in the right order they both go together instantaneously at the e's range ... so if you could litterally always cast them both at the same time... yah that would be a bit problematic) even though ryze is the only champion off the top of my head that has this particular issue ... I'm fairly certian that similar things could probably happen with other champions especially if you consider the case where qwe&r could litterally all be being pressed in the same frame ... the priority could cause issues (this is also probably why macroing* is a bannable offense)

*unless your singed - then you just end up with your laugh bound to your flip because everyone who was playing singed macrod their laugh to the flip...

I could say it's deliberate but one that's how this game was made since the beginning. Except for very niche ideas, much like your case, binding two functions onto one key is unnecessary.

Plus I'm certain it has something to do with the programming. If you bound 'center camera on champion' and 'display character stats' to spacebar, how would the game know which one to rune first? Camera centering or to display character stats? It's like an f(x) function if you you remember your algebra.

And like others saying why this should never be a thing is because double casting is actually a thing. Riven has quite a few tricks up her sleeve if she could manage to bind 2 abilities into one key. The result is cancelling his channel timers and cancelling flashy animations for faster combos.

You must keep your client open the whole time for this to work

  1. Go into a custom game and bind "Show Advanced Player Stats" to an unused key like "/" or ":" or something doesn't matter
  2. Exit the custom game
  3. Go into you file explorer and go to C\Riot Games\League of Legends\Config
  4. Open up persisted settings in notepad and then go and find "evtShowCharacterMenu"
  5. The value should be the key that you just bound "Show Advanced Player Stats" to in the custom game
  6. Change the value between the brackets to Space
  7. Save and Exit Persisted Settings
  8. Go into another custom game and see if it works

Remember to make sure you have the client open the whole time. Do not log out and back in while doing this

You can do it the same way on a Mac, but I have no idea what the file path to the Config folder is.

Edit: Sometimes the patches can get a little funky with the persisted settings and you'll have to do them again, but they are saved server-side so they are usually fine. Very rarely will you have to redo it.

Edit 2: If this works for you then upvote the comment to get it to the top of the post for other players to see.

LOL, DON'T PUT IT TO SPACE, IM FUCKING DYING... OML....

Toggle the champion stats always on, there's almost 0 reason to see your champion stats. Reset your settings to default and leave space where it is, replace things by using SHIFT CTRL ULT.

No you can definitely bind two commands to a key.

The other day, I was recording a game, and I wanted to clear everything from the screen (score, player, and camera command). So I decided to bind that to B, which is not a problem while recording.

In game.... that was a different story.
