If you choose to ignore danger pings or messages it is YOUR problem for whatever happens.

Enemy assassin jumps out of the bush and kills you in bot lane? that is YOUR problem, you were pinged and you ignored it.

"BUT YOU SHOULD HAVE FOLLOWED LANE" Even if i should "follow lane" ITS CLEARLY OBVIOUS that im not going to help you if im still in lane and i pinged missing.

lets say we were both going sky diving, I tell you before you jump that your parachute is not properly secured to your body. WHY WOULD YOU JUMP.

"o well you should have put it on for me" NO you know why? IM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR SAFETY OR WELL BEING.

Enemy top laner has tp and I don't and you choose to go in a fight in bot lane anyway?

ITS NOT MY FAULT HE TPED AND FUCKED YOU GUYS UP I TOLD YOU.

enemy jungler has smite and i don't and you start dragon anyway? ITS NOT MY PROBLEM IF THEY TAKE IT.

-IM NOT A BABY SITTER -IM NOT YOUR FAMILY MEMBER -IM NOT A POLICE MAN -IM NOT A FIRE MAN -IM NOT A CROSSING GUARD -AND I AM MOST CERTAINLY NOT SOME SUPER HERO WHO COMES TO SAVE THE FUCKING DAY EVERYTIME YOU WANT TO DO SOMETHING STUPID.

also it's stupid to follow assassins or burst mages out of lane. they're just waiting for you to do that.

And then there's me spamming pings because our Vayne adc doesn't see the clear Kha sharpening his claws in the bush, waiting for us to keep pushing.

Needless to say that the Vayne, being the typical Vayne player you'd get, blamed me for dying, blamed our team then went afk. After ditching her and helping the rest of my team, I started doing better.

I don't want to be difficult and poke holes in your analogy with skydiving... as I love to skydive myself. Why would you jump? It's cuz you're going banzai skydiving. ;)

Oh god i hate people blaming em for there death hen i literally spam the ping button cause they wouldn't listen

I'll be honest here.

I always ignore general "danger" or "back off" pings. Why? Because people mindlessly spam them.

When I hear a ping used on an enemy - which has a different sound and is more visible in chat - I sure as hell will pay attention, but only then.

Bingo. Half the time a spam ping is from someone back in the base that thinks they own the particular lane and they're mad you're taking farm that they wouldn't be getting anyway.

Vistha Kai1 votes

Just as when I'm ulting to my lane on top of a huge minion wave as Pantheon and the midlaner spams for me to back off, because they want that farm.

But it's not even that.

When somebody spams "Back off" ping on top of you, it gives you exactly zero information, while only distracting you.

Like at least ping in the fucking direction of the danger I'm suppose to run away from.

macromite3 votes

Actually the back off ping does give info. It tells you to back off. more specifically it tells you that there is someone coming for you. which means it's time for you to be on guard, and watch yourself. head to a direction where you have space from most threats and head to whatever the nearest ally is, tower or champion. if you're in a safe position already, you can risk to ignore it, especially if it comes from a champion that is known to attract unsavory players that care too much for farm.

Let me paint a picture with words. You are pushing bot lane, and you are a bit overextended. you figure you should be fine because there was recently a four v four fight in midlane. someone pings for you to back off. first thing you ought to do is step out of obvious vision and check your map. if you see that there are enemies missing, you should hug the bottom wall and go towards your team's tower, or the center brush, and attempt to back. If you stay where you are and farm ignoring it you are going to die from the inevitable collapse. if you attempt to walk to a safe spot and there isn't anything close enough, there is a good chance you will be cut off.

But, the most important thing is that you listen to the ping and play around the information. sometimes nothing happens. but you need to plan for the worst case.

And to think I had to upvote this back up...

I spam the fuck out of pings only when people ignore them. when i say danger, you had better listen because i'm pretty sure you're about to be gang raped, and let me tell you, it's not easy to get a ping on an enemy if you have about a second to work with.

Vistha Kai1 votes

Makes me wonder how people use Flash or any high priority spell at the last moment, if they have problems pinging an enemy that's visible for a second.

macromite2 votes

pinging enemy that in the river by seeing them via ward is a lot harder than dodging with flash. it means that you need to be looking at where it is while it happens, and then click the target in the frame you have, while having them still be in vision for the person who the ping applies to see.

If they are already out of vision the ping is useless unless the person already saw them, in which case the ping is useless anyway.

I mean, You could just listen to normal pings. the ones that are super easy to throw out there. and that give the same info.

BluePolarizer1 votes

It is hard to click on enemies, especially if they are missing in the fog of war but you know they are heading somewhere.

This is particularly true in higher elos where no roamers will walk through commonly warded places, and you can't just ward where you think they'll walk because it'll be deep in the enemy jungle.

You're that guy that gets caught by the enemy when there's like 30 seconds of warning beforehand most likely.

You know, humans have this interesting tendency, to ignore overused things.

Like listening to a single song over and over, or spending some time in a noisy environment, or one idiot spamming pings 20 times on every lane, everytime his opponent walks into a brush.

To answer your question, yes, I do happen to die sometimes, despite warnings from teammates being issued, just like everybody in the game ever. Don't act like it never happened to you.

I'm pretty sure the point of this thread was don't pass blame if you die after warnings.

In the title it also talks about chat messages

You mean when your team is retreating to recover, yet that 1 mage w/o any escape skills and flash on cd stays close to their base and ends up getting caught by a 1v4?

Vo1dWalker1 votes

You are right but for the top you must pick teleport anyway if a team has top without teleport it will probably end up losing because most of the times your team will fight 4v5 and also lose more dragons.

macromite1 votes

false, you're picking at a misinterpret. it can also mean that your top had already used TP.

macromite1 votes

on the dragon thing. it's especially annoying when your bot lane don't back off with the jungler. if jungler takes a step back, you had best take a fucking step back, because they are either gonna peace or they are pulling the dragon out of the pit so it can't be flash stolen.

My favourite when enemy ADC with a global ult just ult somewhere, and since i've seen the angle, i start to ping in a line. Some people know why i ping it, and get out. ... Some will just stay right into it, then say "i thoguht you pinged to go there". Sigh

Spacesuit Spiff1 votes

Itd be nice to be able to compensate for the teams lack of interest in not getting destroyed, but not always possible.

Think my favorite was an Ez who kept getting pulled under turret. Demanded his raka to bodyblock it for him.

Mr Borg1 votes

Also: If the enemy has a TF or Shen DON'T FIGHT IF YOU CAN'T WIN A 3 OR 4 v 2. I can't tell you how many times I've destroyed a TF in lane only to have him farm my supp/adc every ~120 seconds.

Oh also if you die to their mid don't automatically start spamming me to take turret. I know that's the ideal move. But if I'm low on mana and they have a jungler that can kill me before I get back to tower, I'm not gonna risk it. Especially if I don't have flash. I mean, I know your game knowledge is pretty low (thus your death) but this is basic stuff.
