I did not see anywhere it said this, not in the spotlight, lol wiki, or on the actual in game skill tool tip but 
new Q gives him 75 extra attack range. this bumps him up to 200 atk rang for the duration of the skill. I dont know why riot never bothered to tell us this.

Just create a 1 man custom game with shen, lv q first, press c to look at his attack range stat, use q. Its true. My maid concen was that shen would have no atk range but i guess riot fixed that and never told us

what do you mean by NO ATTACK Range?
Edit: I don't own shen
I meant that almost all of shens damage is in his autto attacks and shen has the minimum attack range for a melee champion unlike darius or tahm kench that were given extra attack range but remain melee
