Alistar needs a favour

W - Headbutt SUCKER PUNCH Alistar can no longer land an additional basic attack on his Headbutted target as they fly away.

These are the notes for this patch. Now, I use Alistar as a support, because I love him. He's fun, rewarding and satisfying to play.

I used to midlane with him after the AP nerfs, it sucked, but you COULD midlane. I used to jungle with him too, it sucked, but you COULD jungle. I used to toplane before the buffs, it sucked but you COULD toplane.

Just give him back his horrible manacosts and damage reduction per level on his ultimate. Please. I can't jungle with him at all now, and after this I can't do anything vs ranged in solo lane matchups.

I used to go Alistar vs Akali, Syndra, Kassadin and Fizz mid, because I can harrass and outsustain them, and because I won't get bursted after 6. I used to go Alistar vs Quinn, Nida, Vayne, Teemo and Lulu top, as Alistar is just about the only melee tank champ that can harrass ranged matchups out of lane. Without hard trading with all 4 abilities and risk getting outplayed and killed. I used to jungle with Alistar to peel during the Leona/Thresh era, so they could initiate while I heal and peel during seiges.

People who QQ against Alistar top don't know how to deal with him, kill him level 1 or 2, or zone him to deny him enough farm for sheen. Alistar is NOTHING without sheen. Deny and outfarm early, once he gets sheen you get a warmog or RoA and pots and he can't do shit. If they let Ali free farm into a sheen they deserve to lose a lane.

Remember how everyone raged at Renekton? E-W-Q-E, E-W-Q-E seemingly impossible to trade back. Alistar is just like Renekton, W-Auto, W-Auto. Toplane is littered with harrass you'll struggle to outtrade/trade back, so why is Alistar the one getting nerfed COMPLETELY out of solo lanes?

For the first time, I'm disagreeing with Riots decisions regarding champion direction. Support Alistar isn't any better than it used to be, while everything else a decent Alistar player could do before has been further and uneccersary nerfed.

Just make him like he used to be until a rework or something, possibilities full of trash instead of nothing other than a trash support.

The problem with alistar is that he really doesn't have a moment of weakness. He can be counter picked and be kited to death but against melee like tryndamere and udyr. They can't even get close without getting headbutt with an free auto. Choosing champions to counter alistar is not real weakness.

I didn't get the nerf at all. I play AP Ali ("was playing" now). I didn't feel his AP counterpart to be anything special. I won some lanes but I lost many more. Ali just has so much counters, especially those with constant harass. Gnar is one of them (he got buffed????) So I believe he got nerfed cause of his AD Ali counterpart, why should Ali sup and AP ali suffer?

Make headbutt an auto attack enhance so you can still use it to proc sheen, but you still lose out on your auto attack dmg.

Might as well now rush item 3128 instead of item 3100 on AP Ali. I want a compensation for AP Ali for that nerf -_-

Alistars Kit is from an outdated age. While it is incredibly strong, it contains toxic game play patterns for solo lanes, while being at a manageable level in a duo lane.

Riot has 2 options when considering Alistar`s kit.

a) full rework - change the way alistar`s binary combos work and make a different champ that can be played healthily in other roles. I am thinking something with lots of cc and damage reduction etc.

b) nerf every non important aspect of Alistars kit to preserve Alistars , kit which is probably one of the most iconic in the game, so that he is forced into the support role in a healthy way.

Riot decided that Alistar is not in dire need of a rework, and feels like his kit can bring alot to the support role. The problem is that his attack pattern works too well, so they are making so that you need a duo in order to be the most effective. To be honest, playing against alistar is pretty boring in solo lanes and absolutely bs when he jungles because he essentially has a malphite ultimate at level 2, creating non fun game play patters for the enemy team .
