New Season, New Lag?
First off, I've been searching the forums to see if anyone else has been having this problem, but I've failed to find anything about it so far. So, I'm starting my own thread and hoping to help some unfortunate souls that are going through these problems with me!
I'm not sure about everyone else, but since the new season dropped and the new runes and stuff were introduced my client has been performing extremely badly. Some of my problems are as follows:
-
Lag when locking in your roles in the pre-game screen, and lag when selecting champions/summoner spells in champion select. A lot of the time I'll have to wait like 5 seconds for my client to recognize the selections I'm making, making for a very poor experience in champion select, sometimes resulting in me having a 14 minute dodge timer before I've even played my first game of the day.
-
Error when changing runes in champion select: I've given up trying to adjust my talents unless it's the very beginning of champ select now. I'll try to save my runes before the game starts and will get 5 errors informing me that it can't save my page. Extremely frustrating.
-
Errors when connecting to game: This has happened less and less but I'm just waiting for it to happen again. Many times while I'm loading into the game, I'll get a message saying something along the lines of "Failed to connect to the game, please check your internet connection and try again." This will force me to hit "retry" upwards of five times or to restart the client, log in again and hope the error doesn't come up again. While this is happening I usually have a Pandora tab open in the background, so I highly doubt it's actually my connection (or my computer, seeing as most of the time I get 120-140 fps on max settings in-game.) Even stranger is that when I do connect to the game regularly, my ping massively spikes, going up to like 1800ish, BUT ONLY IN THE FIRST 90 SECONDS. Then my game is completely fine. This is the strangest issue I've experienced and honestly have no idea what would be causing it, only that I doubt it's on my side.
I've taken a few steps to try and address the issue, such as turning on Low Spec Mode (which arguably made the lag worse), and reinstalling using Hextech Repair Tool, all to no avail. Any sort of help would be appreciated!
