Just got Banned for 14 Days (Chat Log Below)

I saw this In Euw Boards and decide to put it here and discus about this guy "DESERVED" 2weeks ban and how riot system work "PERFECT"

I honestly would love a "don't let me type" option. That makes it so I can't respond to people. Kinda like a chat restriction, but not a punishment, more a catch so that I don't instantly write something retarded.

As troll as that sounds I cant agree more with you. 90% of my past toxic behavior was just snap reactions to people acting like total asshats and ruining the game or harassing people for literally no reason. Because you know, in real life people dont put up with bullshit you shout down the guy who is being racist or abusive and stand up for yourself. But not in League of legends, where context doesn't matter. Only thing that matters is if you say trigger words for their ban bot.

While the guy didn't "deserve" the ban in regards to being a toxic person necessarily, he did deserve the ban in regards to the fact that he used a word that we all know is a trigger word for the ban bot in game. This is very very very very very very common knowledge. We all know that using words that are discriminatory in any way will get you a ban if you are reported. Don't repeat it. The guy could have just as easily said "Dude you called me names that aren't appropriate on league". Literally all he had to say, or say nothing at all.

We all know the ban bot is not perfect, but according to the rules implemented by riot, you should know this is the punishment you will get for saying these things. The ban bot is perfect if you think about it like this: Person A said word B, thus the ban bot detected word B which is on ban list C. Person A is thus banned. However, since a bot (at this point in time) cannot establish context, no, the ban doesn't seem as "deserved" as it would as person D using word B to flame the ever living shit out of person A. While person A simply repeated word B to say it wasn't appropriate. However, as I said before, it's clearly written in the terms of service to never use those types of words under any circumstance.

Therefore: The guy did deserve the ban, and the bot system did work as intended (to ban out people using those words). Although it did not catch a necessarily toxic offender, it still caught an offender.

? I literally just typed it out dude. This is how the system works and I'm saying exactly why the ban was "deserved" while also explaining why it feels unfair.

Yep, i got my main account with thousands of hours, several skins and all champs, perma banned fro making sarcastic comments and being "rude" to my teammates when criticizing their gameplay. Never insulted anybody, never harassed anybody. I admit i was being a dick, and i had a negative attitude for sure, saying things like, GG, we cant win. But how is that grounds fro perma banning my account. PERMA- banning my account. for what, being moody? being a downer in chat? telling somebody they are playing the game incorrectly in a sarcastic manner? PERMA banned?

And i know what the response to this is, that inevitably somebody will make: well you must have been a frequent offender. Yes. I was a frequent offender. In fact, i used to be ACTUALLY toxic. I used to ACTUALLY flame people and insult them, and tel lthem they were horrible at the game. I got punished for it, i reformed and stopped doing it. but because those past infractions were on my record. the next punishment i received, which was simply for having a negative attitude, resulted in perma-ban.

That is so incredible frustrating. to actually have broken the rules and to have reformed. and then get perma banned over the smallest least significant thing as being a downer in chat and being sarcastic.

Ay, if it makes you feel any better I had the same thing go down for me. Only I told my adc "I'm not healing you anymore" because they wanted to run it down botlane. 8) I used to be actually disgustingly toxic, and I got punished for telling my adc that I wasn't going to heal them (as the support soraka to be fair...) but either way, it wasn't me calling him names, it was me giving up on him and helping the rest of the team instead.

As I said, it doesn't always feel deserved, but technically (by the bots standards) it is. I'm not saying that it shouldn't be worked on, but right now, building a bot that determines context and factors in "bad day" games (which tbh I think it'd be nice if riot gave you a warning after you were reported in game for negativity saying something like "Players have reported that you are being negative today, perhaps take a break and cool off!") so that you don't get perma'd for just being in a shit mood. HOWEVER, people will argue that you should be a mature adult and never be pissy towards others. (Which come on, we all know doesn't happen. I nearly told a lady at work yesterday to fuck off because she told me she wanted one thing, I did it for her and then she changed her mind and wanted me to redo it... like bitch......).

yea well, thanks for understanding. I did contact riot support about it too and they basically told me toxic is toxic it doesn't matter how you do it.

He gave me the advice to just not use chat just to be safe, so i actually responded to the support person and told him (jokingly) what stops me from making a new account just to join games, never use chat, and purposefully ruin them and troll to piss people off and then report them when they get mad so they would get banned. The support person did not respond.

Permabans are not just awarded based on a certain level of extreme toxicity.

The punishment system works on 4 tiers: 10 game chat restriction, 25 game chat restriction, 14 day ban, and then permaban.

If you are continually toxic, you will eventually reach a permaban.

By your own admission, you were.

Yes, that was my point entirely. As long as somebody at riot deems your behavior "toxic" you will get whatever punishment is next in line, regardless of what you actually did. In my case, i made rude sarcastic comments about my teammates skill and our chances of winning the game. Do people deserve to be perma-banned for that? I mean you could make the argument that that's not even toxic behavior. I was strictly talking about the game and players decisions in game. I wasnt insulting anybody, i wasnt using offensive language, i wasnt bringing anything else up besides gameplay and the game. Is that really perma-bannable, just because the way in which i did it was considered rude or abrasive?

If you find me ANNOYING you can MUTE me. If I INSULT YOU or FLAME you I deserve to be chat restricted or banned. NOBODY deserves a PERMANENT ACCOUNT DELETION for being ANNOYING.
