Greivous Wounds Stacking system
#The Problem as I see it
many people complain about Grievous Wounds being unbalanced because of it applying a flat reduction to heal efficiency (historically 40-50%), and because there is little to no negotiation on how Grievous Wounds can be applied.
Currently we have:
applies instantly, on command
applies every time you fight them
applies immediately on auto attack
applies when they are already dying
- Most of the champion abilities that used to have Grievous Wounds have had it removed.
Looking at it this way, we see 5 options which are 100% reliable, and one that is only helpful if you were at an advantage to begin with (not so helpful vs lifesteal). Two of these highly reliable options are considered niche picks and are rarely used.
#A Possible Solution
Create a stacking system for Grievous Wounds.
* each stack of grievous wounds would last for 3 seconds
* each stack of grievous wounds would apply roughly 5% heal reduction
* each option to apply grievous wounds to a target could apply a different number of stacks.
* stacks are applied addatively, not multiplicatively. Thus two applications of a 5% heal reduction would be a 10% reduction.
*there would be a maximum number of possible stacks. I suggest a maximum of 100% heal reduction, but others would advocate for less, and I respect that too.
obviously the exact numbers are variable, but let me give a few possible
Examples:
applies one stack of Grievous Wounds per tick of damage.
applies once stack of Grievous Wounds each time attacked.
applies two stacks of Grievous Wounds each time attacked.
applies two stacks of Grievous Wounds per attack
etc.
##This option makes Grievous Wounds MUCH easier to balance. ######Potentially, it could even become its own stat, like %heal and sheild power, lethality, or lifesteal. in this case, each point of grievous wounds would be only 1% heal reduction. this also allows for Grievous wounds to become a much more common item to add to items, rather than just a few niche picks that are either OP or useless.
