Literally Everything That's Been Done To Kindred Has Been A Nerf
I've been maining the Dynamic Duo ever since they came out and I'm baffled and confuses as to why Riot hates them so much.
They weren't that powerful when they came out, needing just slight numbers tweaks in order to brings them into line (just like every other on-release champion). They didn't have high pick rates, they didn't have high win rates, they were just overbearing and needed a slight nerf.
But let's break down what the great people over at Riot decided to do to them when a slight adjustment would have sufficed:
-
Removed the ability to cast R: Lamb's Respite on an ally, instead making it so Kindred can only cast it on themselves. This removed the ability to save allies or prepare for dangerous dives, the only point of Kindred's character. Yet Yasuo's ultimate still places him outside of turret range when he uses it.
-
Removed the heal from W: Wolf's Frenzy (aka Hunter's Vigor) for literally no reason. That was what made Kindred even able to survive the jungle because they are a squishy ADC, not a tank or bruiser. But yeah, remove it. Whatever.
-
Heavily increased the cooldown on Q: Dance of Arrows, even making it so when they cast W: Wolf's Frenzy (the ability that is supposed to allow them to spam Q) they still have to wait 5 seconds between volleys. By that time, every one has already escaped or doubled back to kill them. You don't see Zed or Talon having a cooldown on their Shadows or wall hop thing.
-
Constantly, and I mean constantly, changing the way their marks work. Although their marks were suffering and were a major complaint, that was not the main problem, just a symptom of it. The main problem was that you removed all of their survivability and complexity, all of their windows of power, and pretty much everything that made them effective.
Riot, I'm so disappointed. You made a really cool character that I love, then gutted them and reduced them to a literal joke pick. You did it with Kalista, you did it with Azir, etc etc. Just... please stop.
