Now, if you scoffed and rolled your eyes thinking "Pft, you kite the entire enemy team!" - smack yourself. Hard. The thing is, and this is VERY secret so don't be telling nobody buuuuut...
Ezreal is inherently mobile!
Le gasp! I know! But it's true! But what does it mean? Simple.
Ezreal does not need Iceborne Gauntlet in order to kite people.
Say it out loud 3 times. Ezreal. Does not need. An Iceborne Gauntlet to kite.

Now that we have the important message out of the way, now we're actually going to be answering the 1st question above. Who are you kiting? Who is sticking to your SO BADLY, that you need to add an Area of Effect slow to Ezreal's Q? NEVERMIND you can always pick up red buff and NEVERMIND that Trinity Force gives you movespeed to boost your kiting and grant you a better offensive presence and NEVERMIND that slows can't stack so that red buff late game your team is feeding you is somewhat diminished.
Sure, Red Buff on ranged champs is only half as effective of a slow and it can effect multiple targets - but once 
jumps out of it it's meaningless. That goes for any champ with a jump. And there's a lot of champs that can jump.

will not catch you. The only times they will catch you, is if they outplay you.
- Who is your support?
Believe it or not, you have a team! A team that doesn't want you to die! How nice of them! Wanna know the best part? One of them is practically focused on doing nothing but saving your ass. That's the support btw, not the jungler. Think of the jungler of the weird kind of uncle that visits once month, sometimes bringing you a gift but says some weird things at times (Vietnam, man - this man has seen some things).

. If they do, you screwed up. I'm blaming you because you, as Ezreal, decided to position yourself in such a way where Darius, Dr. Mundo, and Garen COULD reach you - while by-passing your support. Sometimes the support may screw up too, but we're not focusing on them, we're focusing on .
- Do I need more damage?
Yes. You do. You really do.
Now, unless your team is full of high damage champs like Fiora top, Rengar jungle, and Cassiopeia mid (ROFL, remember when that didn't suck?), and their team is full of hyper mobile bulls--- such as like Fiora top, Rengar jungle, and Fizz mid - then yes, build an Iceborn Gauntlet. Keep yourself alive, because no one else will IN THIS SPECIFIC SITUATION.
BUT, if you have a team that you know will be able to keep you alive should your own abilities and positioning fail - do not build Iceborn Gauntlet.

You are playing ADC, your damage matters!
So please, please please please please please, stop defaulting to Iceborn Gaunt on Ezreal. There's a time and a place for it, but odds are it's probably not for the game you're playing in. Unless you managed to draft a poke/siege comp with your team that needs extra utility. If so, then by all means, go for it.
TLDR; I'm tired of seeing Iceborn Gauntlet on Ezreal, because I suck at this game. So please, downvote this to oblivion so I don't need to remind myself that i wasted 30 minutes of my life typing away at what is probably some of the most ridiculous dribble to ever contaminate these boards.
