Thought: The current 20min snowbally meta, means that solo-duo rank has become extremely inaccurate.
One fed player can easily close out a game now, if they get a few kills early on. Which means, the RNG skill of your teammates will wildly affect your rank and ability to climb. How do you outplay someone that does half your health with only 1-2 basic abilities? This meta turns the game into a death match, instead of what it was originally intended to be.
Not to mention higher ranking individuals can get placed lowly, and there has been a rise in smurfs since it's the start of a new season. So it only worsens these effects, diamond players paired up against silvers and so forth.
All of this really just turns solo/duo into a lottery, hoping you get decent teammates that wont give the enemy adc 4 kills by 6 minutes.
I think that flex is the only real way to test your skill, as it's a level playing field from start to finish assuming you stick with the same people for it. While it does sound a little wonky, if you think about their new tournament mode coming up, they really are pushing for more people to play 5v5. I think this is going to become the new norm unless the meta can get changed.
