Death Timers

One thing that really pisses me off from time to time about this game is the death timers.

Now, I know this was an issue back in season 4 (?) I believe, where the death timers were super long, but it is still an issue to me, maybe more personally than anything.

I am not saying that the death timers are too long right now, I just want to address the fact that death timers in this game stack on game-time rather than how many deaths you have in total. There is no reason, or at least there shouldn't be, why when I die 40 minutes into the game for the first time (second, third...) that I should receive the same re-spawn time as someone on my team who has died for their 10th time. Now I know, this can cause a discrepancy between how fed a person on a team is (as they tend to die less than others) but by all means, if they have not been dying as much, they deserve to be alive again. There should be a system where if you have a disproportionate amount of deaths when compared to everyone else, your spawn time is less.

Can't say how many games I feel that when I die for the first time, the game loses control. I know how to deal with having less people alive on my team, I know what it takes to still guard that tower or structure or even objective when I am down one person on my team, but as soon as I die (for the first time or for a fraction of my deaths team) a game that was once winnable becomes impossible or that much more harder because I have to wait 30 seconds and leave my team clueless as to what to do.

tl;dr

Death timers should take account of how many deaths you have (or don't, whichever way you think about it).

Lol, that would be awful. If someone gets shit canned in lane they will be forever behind, there would be no coming back from that.

i never said that they should be solely based off of your deaths, I said take into account.

And besides, if someone gets "shit canned in lane" maybe they will actually TRY NOT TO DIE as much by playing safe and farming rather than relying on kills to get back into the game.

When you play, do you try not to die? I don't think its that simple.

The problem with the suggestion of "try not to die", is that it isn't as simple a task as it sounds. Trying not to die could mean various things, and each of those things can be exploited/worked around by the enemy laner/team.

Examples:

A) Choose to hide under tower as the Top/Mid Laner < Enemy calls jungler and they 2 man tower dive you B) Choose to only last hit and avoid fighting as the Top/Mid Laner < Enemy Top Laner forces fights, knowing you can't/won't retaliate C) Choose to ward up and poke as the Top/Mid Laner < Enemy Jungler constantly sweeps your wards and/or wraps around you

Now, these are all Mid/Top Lane examples, since those are the lanes (in my opinion) that require the most Item/Numbers/Summoners/Cooldown knowledge, given they're both solo lanes. These can apply to bot lane, however, just with different variables.

Another thing about the "try not to die" suggestion, is some people say that buying resistances is the solution. However, with some champions, buying resistances BEFORE any single damage item can be more damaging to that player, than the enemy laner.

For example, telling a feeding Tryndamere to buy resistances over damage items is not going to help him as Tryndamere needs damage items to be even the least bit effective, let alone threatening.

Same goes for the vice-versa case of telling a feeding Malphite (yes, I've seen it plenty of times) to build damage. Sure, his kit ult may hurt a lot, later in the game, but that would not change the fact that he is/was feeding early on.

death timers are designed to help the game end sooner. If you're out there dieing you aren't out there playing safe ergo should lose, longer timer, easier time fight for enemy team.

You...just proved my point??

The community actually asked for longer timers in late game. Riot listened and we got them. The problem is that after 30 minutes most of the towers are gone and the game can be decided in one fight. The towers are like a pile of butter and they shoot wet spaghetti. Even if you were ahead all game long and somehow get aced...well it's likely they are gonna storm your nexus. They seriosly need to compensate for how snowbally the game has become.
