Everyone knows Professor Akali...

And everyone knows a good Akali is literally unstoppable with gunblade. Huge heals, Ridiculous on-hit dmg, long duration invisibility, and impossible to get away from.

Everyone has watched Professor Akali raape low elos and make money on youtube from it, and now everyone else wants to do it.

She needs a nerf. Maybe nerfing her invisibility.

51% winrate top with 2% pickrate and a 52% winrate mid with a 0.65% pickrate doesnt really yell OP imo

The real challenge with Akalis win rate interpretations is whether she was first pick or last pick: If she's first pick at top tiers, the teams build to counter her with tons of non target aoe cc. If she's last pick, she owns the game entirely.

And, she has less time to react to teams that can skill animation cancel at high elos. For example, an Akali vs a Riven will literally have the riven cast all her skills in about 1 second, because it's possible to elminate the animation of E and have Q overlap it as well as W. The better people are at abusing mechanics with skill cancelling, the weaker Akali becomes.

That doesn't mean she's not OP. That means that people know how to exploit champs which have skill cut exploits.

Nerf yi while you are balancing based on low elo smurfing.

It's not balancing around low elo though, it's not a mistake that TF Blade (the rarely contested Rank 1 NA player) is an Akali 1-trick

Good Akali players are a problem at all elos

It's also not a mistake that no one else has been able to replicate TFBlade's "abuse Akali to get rank 1" in the last year. It's not like "play Akali" is a strategy that just escapes every single other high level player besides him.

Except that's just not true. There are already 5 High Elo Akali mains just this season, 3 of them are 200+ LP Masters and the other 2 are D1 and D3.

I'll link their op.gg's http://na.op.gg/summoner/userName=tfb%C3%ADade http://na.op.gg/summoner/userName=rank1ismine http://na.op.gg/summoner/userName=treysh http://na.op.gg/summoner/userName=lonesomeranger http://na.op.gg/summoner/userName=norton

"rank1ismine" has an 81% winrate over 78 games played and he's a Masters player with 276LP. To say that TF Blade's success isn't seen anywhere else and that he's just somehow way better than anyone else is just wrong and easily disproven. He is, without a doubt, one of the best players in NA, but to pretend like the champion he plays doesn't help him achieve that rank is absurd.

Akali is 100% broken when placed in competent hands, no matter the elo. I don't know why she doesn't have a huge pick rate, but just because she has a low pick rate doesn't mean she's not strong.

edit: It's important to note that I only linked the high elo akali mains. There are also masters/challenger players that play akali a lot but as a second champion:

But isn't "rank1ismine" TFBlade? Im pretty sure thats just TFs side account he plays with on some of his streams. Also, TFBlade has achieved an 88% win rate recently so that point is kind of irrelevant.

Slythion2 votes

I honestly don't track side accounts, so you may be right.

Either way, there's now 20+ accounts with akali as one of their most played champions in d2 or higher so I think my point still stands. I made that reply at the start of the season where no one really had time to climb, now it's been awhile and we can see that Akali is definitely successful in higher elos for a decent amount of players.

just nerf tf blade

And all the other master/challenger Akali players as well? :^)

I'd say either nerf her invisibility or nerf her passive Twin Disciplines' healing. It's extremely hard to trade with an akali in lane because you can't target her through the cloak even with an oracle/ward while she's proc'ing that heal and shit

You learn to play around her stuff. Her Shroud has a 18 second cooldown until level 13, because no one maxes it. Just bait it out, then kill her within the 12 or so seconds she is out of it. Her passive is the only thing making her remotely viable, nerfing it will remove her from being a even semi decent laner. If you go in on akali when she uses her q to farm you can easily win trades, I should know because i main Akali and when i play riven against her top i win lane solely off of that logic.

You all happy she got reworked so u cam stop crying and see her in lcs instead?!? Lol.. just remember alkali was like anivia.. she had good winrates because most of the people who play her are mains of that champ.. that's why we rarley ever see nerfs on anivia! She has an extremely high Winrate every season, problem is.. that doesn't make her op.. how often u see her in LCS? Most of her player base are anivia mains.. making her Winrate high. Just like akali! Akali was never broken in high so mmr unless.. they main her or the right spot.. she's hard to kill when ahead like most champs...
