The teaser for Kai’sa showed her taking the Rift Herald or whatever. Was this teaser meant to signify her being:

Yes. I doubt it. Is probably a creature from the void the is latching onto for life and has given her a purpose in return for sustaining her through out the dangers of the void. That way it gets to feed.
Yes, it was to show she is a void champion that hates void monsters (just like her father Kassadin)
No, she is not wearing a Rift Herald, otherwise she wouldn't have been able to fire that blast at Rift Herald and Rift Herald doesn't have attacks like that anyways

based on some of her quotes, this is what i think, lore wise. Kai Sa was the daughter of Kassadin, a man who was consumed by the void (hence pre-void kassadin skin) and she was SOMEHOW dragged into the void, since childhood, where she somehow forgot all her memories, but are very faint (hence why there's an enemy kassadin, she says quotes like " "Huh, memories of my father come at the strangest moments", "Reunions can be so bittersweet." etc etc. My guess is that she accidently traveled with her father to the void, grant he told her not to. I dunno kassadins lore since i dont really play him lol. ANYWAYS. she was stuck in there for quite some time. So you only have one choice. Fight...survive..escape...So what im thinking is she slowly took down low level void creatures, and stripped them from their armor/gear and abilities for example too, eventually adapting and surviving the void, her suit bits and pieces of high scale and high leveled void creatures, while fine tuning it here and there with her skills and knowledge of survival. but the void creatures still lurk to find her and kill her even back in her home world of runeterra. That's just my thought lore wise
