Welcome to the League of Legends champion spotlight featuring Veila, The Girl and the Ghost.

Veila, The Girl and the Ghost Mage Location: Unknown

Veila is a mage that has focuses on mid lane pressure. She has powerful crowd control, and an ultimate with an huge radius.

Lore:

Base Statistics:

Health: 470 (+90 per level) Attack damage: 54 (+3.5 per level) Attack speed: 0.630 (+1.5 per level) Armor: 19 (+2.7 per level) Magic resistance: 30 (+1.35 per level) Range: 550 (Ranged) Movement Speed: 340

Passive: Spirits Arise

Veila summons a ghost at the beginning of a game, and it can be placed anywhere on the map. Only Veila can see this ghost, and it unlocks a slew of powerful abilities to use in battle. Clicking on her passive icon allows her to replace her ghost in a new area. This sets the passive on a 2 minute cool down. If Veila walks 1000 units away from her ghost, she loses the use of her Q , W and ultimate.

Q: Soul Call

Range: 625 units Cost: 40/50/60/70/80 mana Cool down: 10/9/7/5/3 seconds

Veila commands her ghost to fly towards a target direction, revealing it for the duration of the skillshot. If it comes into contact with a champion, it stuns them for 1.5 seconds. Casting it again makes the ghost explodes dealing 50/70/90/110/130 +75% AP as magic damage. If exploded, the ghost reforms in it's original position after 10/9/7/5/3 seconds.

Use when your enemy is near a wall, and when you know your skillshot will hit the enemy no matter what, or when they are under fear from your W

W: Spectral Anguish

Cost: 30/40/50/60/70 Cool down: 12/10/9/8/6 seconds

On first cast, Veila switches places with her ghost and immediately uses Spectral Anguish, inflicting fear to enemy champions and damaging all enemy champions in a 300 unit radius, dealing 20/30/40/50/60 +75% AP as magic damage. If cast in quick succession, Veila switches with her ghost, uses Spectral Anguish, but it only has a radius of 200 units. She then goes back back to her original position.

Use to dodge potentially deadly skillshots or attacks from enemy champions, or W in and then land a Q fear for a successful gank

E: Veil of Souls

Range: 600 units Cost: 20/30/45/55/65 mana Cool down: 20/18/16/14/10 seconds

Veila creates a veil fabricated of the souls of the dead, and when passed through by enemy champions, it slows and them and grants your team vision of them for 10 seconds.

Use in tight corridors to block off enemies chasing you and your team, as well as granting vision of them in case they try sneaky ambushes

R: The Girl and the Ghost

Cost: 40 mana (Ghost placement) 150/120/100 mana (Ultimate) Cool down: 5 seconds (Ghost placement) 75/65/60 seconds (Ultimate)

Casting your ultimate causes Veila to merge with her ghost, using it as her form. While she is in this form, her body remains where the ultimate was cast. However, if she is attacked, her soul returns to her body. While using her ghost, she loses all abilities except her Q. Her auto-attacks deal 15% of her AP as magic damage. Her Q is now technically her "ultimate". Cast it, and Veila channels for 2 seconds, gathering all the ghosts that she can, then sends them forward in a massive wave of damage, dealing 300/400/600 +75% AP as magic damage in a 1000 unit radius. While as a ghost, you have gray health, and if the ghost's health goes to 0, you are split from the ghost, and the ability is set on full cool down (75/65/60 seconds). When you split from the ghost, you take 50% of the damage taken while you were the ghost.

Hide yourself in a bush far away from the area of a team fight (not too far so you can join in later), merge with your ghost, then go in, and if you time your ultimate right, then revert to Veila's physical form, rejoin the fight, you'll be all set for a team fight win

Why did you remove the old post :I

Some pointers for Veila: What kind of new Identity/Theme does she introduce ? Does she have a new and unique playtyle ? Does her Kit represent her character and theme ? Ghost -> What do Ghosts do (jumpscare, walk through walls, turn invisible etc. )

Considering her theme is ghost controller, apart from her R she doesn't really deliver that. R is overloaded with multiple effects and has little counterplay due to the ghosts invisibility. E has a long CD and a rather basic effect and is the only basic ability without an R interaction. W is basically multiple warwick fears and LB blinks, which while unique also sounds OP. Q is a basic skillshot, but does little to differentiate itself from Zeds Q The passive is very bland as it boils down to deal extra damage every thrid hit, since there is no duration.

The most interesting aspect of her kit is the ability to control the ghost while channeling, which is a nice tool for scouting and could be expanded upon. Making her ghost a basic ability or a passive effect, would make her theme much more powerfull as it would play a bigger part of the kit (alternatively you could tone down the effects and make R unlock at level 1).
