A Fun (Undoubtably Biased) Proposed Change to Shen Q
Just a fun little idea I've been trying to theory-craft in my head. Keep in mind this is coming from a Shen main who likes the dueling aspect of his Q. It may be overpowered, it may be underpowered, who knows.
Removed: 5/10/15/20/25/30 + (2/2.5/3/3.5/4% + 2% empowered of target's maximum health) magic damage
Added: 6/7/8/9/10 + (2.5/3/3.5/4/4.5 % of target's maximum health) magic damage, changed to TRUE damage upon empowered at skill levels 1,2,3,4,5
I wanted to basically focus Shen more on his aspect as a tank duelist, grinding down tanks in wet-noodle fights, while still being able to put up a fight (but still reined in) against squisher targets. It keeps the aspect of the Q minigame, where a Shen wants to successfully drag the sword through his opponent for stronger autos. (I'll admit, people may say this part of his kit is clunky, but I absolutely love it, and I feel like it's what makes new Shen so much more fun than old Shen).
It's also meant to keep his damage consistent (at an average level) throughout the game, as his Q is his only main damage source and his damage tends to fall off extremely hard post laning phase unless one gets a titanic hydra or sunfire.
